Well that and I thought Nintendo wasn't having a big conference this year. I thought they were doing a few Nintendo Directs.

It is simply one "E3 Direct" - how they call it - instead of a conference.
Like Konami.

The key difference is that instead of the press bringing us the game news, they'll "test" a "new" forumla that they already tried out in Europe. The Games showed off at the Direct will be playable for anyone... over 100 Best Buys...  between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. local time on Wednesday, June 12, and between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. local time on Saturday, June 15.

Tom Cruise?

@Nintendo: I want a new F-Zero and Star Fox... And you are sitting on alot of franchises that need to be brought back. Fatal Frame? Sin & Punishment? And most of all, A NEW IP BY NINTENDO. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.
Okay, i know you had some on the Wii at the very end of the cycle. But the Wii U needs some.
@Sony: I want a new Siren...! Where the fuck are Last Guardian and Agent? Thats actually all. You're doing it right. :3
@Microsoft: Jesus christ, stop sitting on these bazillion Original Xbox IP's - Screw Gears and Halo!
Midtown Madness? Conker? Perfect Dark? Hydro Thunder? Crackdown? Lost Odyssey? N3?
You have Kinect 2.0? Make another NUDE, but bring it to the West!
And make another deal with Sega, because they're obviously not moving their asses themselves.
Jet Set Radio 3 and Where the f*ck is crimson dragon?

... also, while not a console manufracturer- Capcom: MEGAMAN. MEGAMAN. MEGAMAN. FOR FUCKS SAKE.

That is totally unrealistic, asking for sequels to games that didn't sell well. Also, The Wonderful 101 is a new IP being published by Nintendo. Also also, who the hell wants a sequel to N.U.D.E, a game that came out in Japan that nobody bought? Also also also, SEGA doesn't own Crimson Dragon, that's Microsoft that are sitting on their asses.

If you played a game like Borderlands or Metal Gear that uses both those buttons to do different and important things, you'd understand why I'm perplexed by this.

Borderlands has the entire d-pad free. Yes,  i know weapons are mapped on there- but they're arlready mapped on Y or w/e.
Options basically is the back button - and there is also this giant touchpad ya'know?

Microsoft announced that they'll have greater support for japan @E3.
(Along with the fact that they promised that E3 will be all about the games and that they're gonna clear up everything, since apparantly they are not based on facts and are only rumour or speculation.)

So, maybe...

lolno do you even Borderlands? Who uses the quickselect with Y/Triangle? Noone intellegent that's who, we use the d-pad to instantly get the weapon we need for that situation, it's fast and convenient, leaving the start button to pause the game and config options, and the select button to micromanage your character.

And there are still games out there, even indie games, that use start and select to do different and important things when all the other buttons are in use, like Dust:An Elysian Tale...

And no, I'm not counting on that touchpad to replace a damn thing, I was already dissapointed thinking the rear touchpad on the Vita would "replace" R2 and L2...

There are some okay games. One or two that I would really like to play. But they've still got those same restrictions. Until something is done about that, I won't buy an Xbox One and I'll tell everyone I know not to. My girlfriend's family lives out in the middle of nowhere and they don't have internet there, it's not even available to them. This console is useless to them.
Title: Re: E3 2013: Discussion Thread
Post by: shadowDOESrock on June 10, 2013, 08:17:30 AM
Okay, so... i'm incredibly conflicted about the Xbox One.
I want all the games shown there, aside from Battlefield 4.
And yes, i know which ones are Exclusive and which arent.

But... i dont want to get an Xbox One. It directly conflicts with the image i idealise for gaming. The DRM and Used Game stuff... : /

Also, Killer Instinct and Crimson Dragon.

Ugh, its not like the Internet requirement itself is an issue, since i am connected 24/7 anyway. Where i live, there is no such a thing a place with "no internet". But i, by principle, dont want to support that...

Not only that, same as with Steam... as a person who wants to collect games and play them in 30 / 40 years. What happens when the servers shut down? Can i just not play anymore? They have no worth, nothing.

And then there is the huge used games thing which... i actually a big deal for me, since i bought alot of old games that arent for sale today anymore here by retail.

Ughhhhhhhhhh
I dont know... I honestly dont...
Well, lets see Sony first...
Lets not act like they're clear- they're the last ones today and they'll be able to change everything by merely lifting their head and saying... "None of that".

I gave the whole conference a 7.5/10. Some of the games were eye catching to me, Like Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, Ryse, Sunset Overdrive, and Project Spark. The fact that you can now live stream your gameplay through twitch.tv on the console was pretty cool too. I found it pretty silly to re-boot the 360, but seeing how the One looks so far... eh. It makes sense. I am disappointed that they didn't confront rumors about the internet, or used games. Not enough spec talk in my opinion. $500.00 is not worth it, in my opinion.
The EA press conference was okay, it, also, had some pretty interesting games...and sports (just what we need, more sports. A basket-ball game that focuses on dribbling! omg so cool !!111!). Mirror's Edge 2 was a surprise though! That's a plus.

yeah...
...the impact on this even bigger though.

I mean, Microsoft literally did everything right this time in terms of Games...
But... well, we all know the Story.

I mean fuck, Nintendo doesnt seem to move their ass with Star Fox and we have Crimson Dragon here... (which totally is not Panzer Dragoon)...

I wanted a retail game like for a long time.

They opened it up with my favourite Jmi Hendrix song, Voodoo Child. Yesyesyes. I'm definitely pumped for the new Rocksmith, although, I still need to play the first one. #girlwood... I don't really appreciate that, that woman is pretty irritating in my opinion, she tried too hard to be funny or something.
Another racing game.... eh. Rayman Legends looks cute, I've played the demo at Gamestop, it's neat. THe Mighty Quest For the Epic Loot looked funny, but no gameplay so I can't say much past that. A South Park Game...eh. A raving Rabids TV show with Nickelodeon...that you can manipulate... through Xbox One. Eh.  The woman irritated me a lot throughout the stream, so I just ended up pausing it. I can see what comes up from Ubisoft later.

You know Microsoft fucked up when they showed nothing but good-looking games and people still don't want to buy your console.

MY summary of the E3 show for today. I liked and disliked. You guys can see here

Sony conference was delayed 12 minutes lmfao.
So Playstation 4 also looks like a VHS thing. They're providing a music service, and... guess what... a TV service!!! Not much else was said about it in the beginning, I don't think. The games are pleasing, though! Tearaway, The Last of Us, and several others were announced for Ps3 (Rain caught my eye big time). Several nice looking games were announced for the Ps4, including a good amount of indie games. Diablo 3, Final Fantasy Versus XII, Assassin's Creed Black Flag (which showed of some good...video glitches), and Kingdom Hearts III is just a bit of what you guys are to expect later on.
As for specs, NO DRM, NO restrictions on used games, direct stream with Ustream, and download in bg with games.  I give the conference a 10/10. So far this E3 I find Sony>Microsoft

then again I'll sony> Microsoft anyday so.

The entire E3 show as a whole today? I give it a 9/10 maybe an 8.5/10.

Sony won E3.

No DRM, more powerful, and $100 cheaper than the XBOX ONE.

Despite not showing any new exclusives, the PS4 is just the more appealing console. Only downside is you need PS+ to play online.

Well, my opinion has been made, PS4 it is.
I'm changing my PS3 plans and instead am saving that money to get lots of games this fall.

Sorry, Rare- i wont be able to get your wonderful Killer Instinct.

I don't get what's so special about Killer Instinct.

Welp guess what guys, I'm going to save up and pre-order a PS4 once I have enough money. There's no doubt about it that Sony is going to dominate this generation, and it might very well be like it was when Sony drove Sega out of the console business... Of course this time won't be depressing, since the XBone pretty much sucks compared to everything else.

Ever played it?
EDIT: F2P BS. Intrest lost.
Now there's nothing.

To be honest, Microsoft is in such a corner now they basically have to rethink their model before its too late.

So, who's getting the Xboxdone?
Except those hardcore fanboys who honestly believe DRM is the future and Microsoft is in the right...
Yes, those people exist...

Not really, GameStop will open new units and sell them used. At least, I know they do that with games sometimes. Not sure about consoles.
