Title: "Entirely New" Pokemon Series Coming This Year (to Japan at least)
Post by: TheGameNinja on January 28, 2010, 08:05:18 PM
http://kotaku.com/5459349/entirely-new-pokemon-series-coming-this-year (http://kotaku.com/5459349/entirely-new-pokemon-series-coming-this-year)

Says it will have new Pokemon in it. I wonder how many new ones they'll bring out, since there's already just about 500. I remember back when it was just 150, and THAT seemed like a daunting task. Nowadays you can get that many different Pokemon just playing through the story.
I've never felt old before... thank you, Pokemon... I guess...

NO. HeartGold and SoulSilver are ALREADY out in Japan. Did you even read the article? These are NEW games that aren't out yet. New info is supposed to come out in the next issue of CoroCoro Magazine in Japan, but they might say something on the next Pokemon Sunday episode.

Ugh, MORE Pokémon? I thought that the 4th one was the end, since the last Pokémon, number 493 if im right, is the God of all Pokémon's. These Pokémon should be some bonus ones, like new evolutions or something.

That may very well be the case. That's what I've been thinking, at any rate. All that has been said is that the games are an "entirely new RPG series," that they're on the DS, that they're supposed to be out in Japan this year, and that they will contain new Pokemon. They didn't say how many new Pokemon. I wouldn't mind a pre-evolution or two before Kangaskhan myself. Rumor is, the next episode of Pokemon Sunday will have some information, but the next issue of CoroCoro Magazine is going to have some kind of information on the games.

There are soon going to be too many pokemon (and I thought 300 something was bad...)

Pokemon Sunday had Jun'ichi Masuda (who works on the Pokemon games) on, and he showed off the silhouette of a new Pokemon, 5th generation. It is supposedly the "Z" in the new movie, "Phantom Champion Z."

Turns out they revealed that Pokemon AND it's first stage in the new CoroCoro. It's Zorua and Zoroark.

The following is copied from Serebii.net:

First Pokemon:
US Name: To Be Confirmed
Jp. Name: Zorua (ゾロア)

Type: Dark
Classification: Evil Fox Pokémon
Height: 0.7m
Weight: 12.5kg

First Appearance: Phantom Champion Zoroark

Details:
The Pokémon, Zorua, was confirmed in the February 15th 2010 issue of CoroCoro. This issue confirmed that Zorua was the pre-evolved form of the previously hinted Pokémon; Zoroark.

Second Pokemon:
US Name: To Be Confirmed
Jp. Name: Zoroark (ゾロアーク)

Type: Dark
Classification: Monster Fox Pokémon
Height: 1.6m
Weight: 81.1kg

First Appearance: Phantom Champion Zoroark

Details:
On the Pokémon Sunday episode that aired in Japan on February 7th 2010, Jun'ichi Masuda revealed the sihlouette of a brand new Pokémon. He stated this Pokémon lives in a new area with many new Pokémon. It is also the Pokémon that holds the key to the upcoming movie, then named: Phantom Champion Z.
It was later revealed in the February 15th 2010 issue of CoroCoro. This issue revealed both Zoroark and its pre-evolution Zorua and revealed that it is to be the key pokémon of the 13th movie; Phantom Champion Zoroark. Based upon its classification, ばけぎつねポケモン, we are able to determine that it is the Phantom Champion as ばける means "to take the shape of" or "disguise oneself".

I thought that they were done. #493. The god of Pokémon, the one that created them all, Arceus. And now they come with the 5th one. And tbh, it wont surprise me if they screw up this generation.

Plus the Arceus legend conflicts with the Mew legend!  Someone really needs to check the lore

Actually, it doesn't. Arceus created the legendaries of Sinnoh, that is confirmed. It is also said that Arceus created the world of Pokemon and all Pokemon as well. Mew carries the DNA of every Pokemon. Why couldn't Arceus create the Mew (because there are more than one), who then in turn crate the rest of the Pokemon?

that´s not a reason to be happy, they are going to ruin Pokemon because there are to many pokemon already they will become repetitive(I dunno).

Pokeon only has the alternate series to survive or at least new combinations of pokemon in one region but PLEASE don´t make more species PLEASE, they will hate you nintendo.

Why not? I really don't understand Pokemon fans who think that way. I usually find that they're the younger ones who weren't around for Red and Blue when they came out. Back then, we thought 150 was too many, but we still wanted more! Then we found out there were 151 and everyone went nuts! Then a whole 100 more got announced and we lost our minds!! For the original Pokemon fans, every new Generation is like reliving the good old days. Exploring new places we didn't know existed. Finding new Pokemon we couldn't have imagined. I don't really like having to catch 500+ Pokemon and another 100+ every new Generation, but I wouldn't change it for the world. ;D

You mean May?Cause Misty is busy running the cerulean gym

May is as bad as Dawn. Misty's sisters came back from their cruise a long time ago. All Misty has to do is train Daisy (and only her, Lily and Violet couldn't care less) and Misty can go do what she WANTS to do: Travel with Ash.

I don't really like having to catch 500+ Pokemon and another 100+ every new Generation, but I wouldn't change it for the world. ;D

my first one was silver but I´m saying that i´m scared that it becomes boring and they ruin pokemon but I also like exploring new places and discover new pokemon but they could ruin the series

As long as Ken Sugimori is drawing the Pokemon, everything will be okay.

Supposedly, the new issue of CoroCoro has revealed the new Starter Pokemon, as well as announcing a Mawile evolution. The only evidence at the moment are some leaked, grainy cell phone pictures.

Again, this hasn't been completely confirmed yet. Remember, tomorrow is April Fool's Day.

Bulbapedia is treating this as legit, but I'm not entirely convinced. It may well be real, though. Guess we'll find out for sure once the actual magazine leaks online.

EDIT: Bulbapedia has removed the article from their site, so this may have been confirmed as just a rumor or a hoax. Again, as far as I know there has been NO EVIDENCE that this is legit. On the other hand, it's not that outrageous for it to be true. The games will be out by the end of the year in Japan, so there should be some new info like this out soon. We're a third into the year already!

EDIT AGAIN: The new games will be officially revealed on the April 11 episode of Pokemon Sunday in Japan. There will be more details in the next issue of CoroCoro, which will likely leak before April 11. Stay tuned!

The last issue of CoroCoro listed it as being in the next issue and Pokemon Sunday outright said that they would be showcasing them during the show.

At least, that's what Serebii.net says, and they only post something if it has been confirmed.

The new games are now official. I started a new thread, so I'll just lock this one.
