So like, fighting games are totally my jam, I love playing 'em, and I love watching 'em just as much. Two guys locked in a room, they beat each other up till one stays down, evokes a special kind of excite.
But anyway, I just wanna ask why is it that Fighting Games aren't nearly as popular in e-sports as other games like MOBAs and strategy games? And just generally, sports that feature teams against teams seem to have more buzz about them than sports about martial arts, I'll hear about Football, Basketball, or Hockey long before I hear about Judo, Fencing or even UFC.
I don't really get it, so I'm wondering if you guys could give me some perspective.
Fighting games require more skill than other games.
Well that's to play, and there's definitely plenty of people entering these fighting game tournaments.
I'm talking about people watching and buzzing about it.
You don't need to understand the complex stuff to enjoy watching it do you?
I think people just enjoy watching team games more than 1-on-1 games. Couldn't tell you why though.
Smash Melee, Smash 4, And USFIV all deserve spots in e sports
Fighting games? Well hope it isnt brutal lol
Probably because fighting games are more button-mashy while MOBA's are more strategy based.
That's my guess.
they are kinda based on luck sometimes
