I think cause he was in Final Phantasy first.But are'nt they both made by Square Enix

Ok now I get it Square made Final Phantasy and they helped with Kingdom Hearts so when he was put in they had to change his name

lolno thats not why they changed his name
It was something like After his world was taken by the heartless he wanted to start over his life with a new name or something like that

My favorite characters are Shadow, Sonic, Tails, Kirby, Snake from MGS... I have a few more, but those are my all time favorites
