I really don't care for any of the choices in a lot of these categories.

I hope they give out more than one friggin award on air. Last year they aired ONE on stage award. They just said who won what before and after commercials. The rest was dumb celebrity stuff and them playing angry birds or something backstage.

Well if WWE '13 gets a GotY award THQ might do something for it.

Not having the Hardy Brothers is un-fucking-excusable.

They're having financial issues since a few months now.

Though if they win an award I'm sure SOMEONE will want to buy them out.

Sorry though Jkid, I chose SSX.
Because SSX is absolutely fucking spectacular and there needs to be more polished games like it.

If SSX wasn't a vote I'd help you :C

and judgement day for THQ is January 15th, if they dont manage to pay off their 50 million credit by then, they're officially bankrupt.

I wouldn't exactly equate the VGAs the Oscars. There should really be a more dignified gaming awards show.

Yeah, but its the... only "real" thing video games have, really. And its also the closet thing video games have to the oscars.
And besides, most of the VGA's where pretty good, aside from last years show - where gaming took a backstep to cameos of stars.

Fuck last years producer.

All it is is commercialized crap, gamers don't relate to any of the shit that happens, and the awards are far from fair sometimes. At least the nominations are varied this year.

I vote but I never watch it.

Well this makes jkid sad...
And it's a damn shame this is happening because their most hyped games won't get released by them at all unless they're bought out, especially after massive delays.

I've noticed Journey in about 8 categories and Assassin's Creed III in about 5, sometime overlapping. I don't really think there's much variation here.

Yes, games get various nominations in various categories. That is completely normal.
They'll get more nominations if they're really good.

The reason being a lack of localisation support from Nintendo of America, since it wouldnt sell.
It was translated and dubbed by Nintendo of Europe, thus everyone has a british accent in that game.

Namely Xenoblade Chronicles, The Last Story and Pandoras Tower.
The Last Story wasnt even brought over by Nintendo themselves, but by XSEED.
Nintendo of Europe brought Pandoras Tower to Europe & Australia, but not America.
And Xenoblade Chronicles was brought over by Nintendo of Europe in August of 2011 and after it did well it came to 'merica on April 6, 2012.

All three games where originally Nintendo Published Games and all came out a year before their EU Release Date in Japan.

Nintendo of America thinks Japanesey JRPG's will perform bad in western lands. Especially America.

Aaaaaaaaand... none of the Games sold well in the end in the west.
So good luck getting Nintendo's Wii U JRPG's over.

Ofcourse it did well for XSEED. XSEED is a no-name publisher that publishers games no one knows about.
I can imagine 120'000 Copies being good for them, especially since they arent holding huge development costs.

But for Nintendo, a game that sold less than a half million worldwide? lolnope.

Why not?

The Cut-Off Date is like November 15th

which means Far Cry 3, Hitman Absolution, Sonic All-Stars Racing Transformed, Epic Mickey 2, Planetside 2 and Lego Lords of the Rings all count for the 2013 VGA's, not the 2012 VGA's.

You can BET that Far Cry 3 would've made it in one of the categories and that SART would also replace "Dirt Showdown". Dirt Showdown was bad, but there where like almost no good racing games released this year.

Hitman would probably also get a nomination, considering its critical acclaim.
