Can't be as good as Higurashi no Naku Koro ni
Sure it's a visual novel, but that still counts... right?

Let's put it this way.

The person who wrote and designed 999 is Kotaro Uchikoshi, the same person who wrote Ever 17: The Out of Infinity, one of the most acclaimed visual novels of all time.

So yes, it is as good as Higurashi, if not better.

I can second Ever 17 being an amazing visual novel. I loved that one so much, though 999 is better

Did anyone get to playing this yet? :S

8th playthrough >_> (all the playthrough to get to the true ending... then starting over about 6 months later for fun ^_^)

I feel like I'll never be able to truly replay this game, because even if I do it will never have the same impact on me as it did on my first playthrough.

Still, I might replay it a second time just to go back through the story with the knowledge on how the game ends to appreciate it more. See how many neat tidbits I missed on my first playthrough.
