Electronic Arts will be euthanizing Rock Band for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch later this month, owners of the app were surprised to discover yesterday. On May 31, an app notification warns, Rock Band will be "no longer be playable on" iOS devices. EA also offers a sincere "thanks for rocking out with us" to users who paid $4.99 for the soon to be unplayable game.

EA hasn't offered an explanation for the termination of Rock Band iOS, but it does confirm the disabling of the game on its support web site.

The app is currently still available for sale via iTunes, with no mention that Rock Band will be disabled in a few weeks.

Harmonix, seemingly caught by surprise by the development, says that it's not responsible for the iOS version of Rock Band, which is published by EA Mobile.

To everyone who bought this on their iOS Device - you just lost five bucks.

Gentlemen, lets now imagine games will be completely digitally distributed. I love ze future.

Maybe if EA wouldnt buy the complete rights to publish licensed sports games, they would have competition.

Hence why, NBA 2k is the only real competitor franchise thats left to a EA Sports franchise and its way better.

PES also would be better than FIFA, if it wasnt for PES11 & PES12.

And that's why physical distribution is superior to digital. If they were to decide to no longer support the console version of Rock Band, they can't march into my home and take it from me.

This is why i wont even touch the PlayStation Orbis once.

As for the new Xbox...  atleast the Games are not tied to your account.
I'll probably be 'forced' to buy the Nextbox 'cause most of the games wont be on my precious Wii U.
Just like with the Wii & Gamecube.

I mean doesn't the whole "Worst Company in America" award mean nothing to them?

It's bad enough with on-disc DLC, and day one DLC, and DRM, and all other manners of evil, but is this even legal?

DO WE EVEN GET A F*CKING REFUND?

In a statement to Kotaku, EA responded to their Consumerist Worst Company in America title saying: "We're sure that British Petroleum, AIG, Philip Morris, and Halliburton are all relieved they weren't nominated this year. We're going to continue making award-winning games and services played by more than 300 million people worldwide."

So no, it doesnt.

Holy sh*t they are evil...

Meaning the only real way to do any damage to them is to boycott everything they publish... like that's ever gonna happen >_>

As long as they don't start doing bad things to my SSX games, I'm cool.
