Okay, this is just a thing we should totally do.
We should, like, build this elaborate invitational 'why dont you pay us a visit again' mail
any suggestions?
QuoteThe SonicZone Team greets you to a beautiful day
Have you forgotton us? Once opon a time you have registered yourself on 'SonicZone.net' - or maybe even 'SonicRoms.net'. Maybe you were just here for Sonic Adventure DX, maybe you even stayed for a while on our forums? Well, SonicZone has expanded from just being a forum about Sonic, to one about everything. We activly talk about all kinds of things. Games, Movies, News, Anime - and ofcourse Sonic.
Interested? We'd be glad to hear from you once more!
That's a newsletter?

That's a newsletter?
You know, those little dumb update mails websites want to to click the "Recieve Newsletter" button so you recieve the newest updates and ads?
EDIT:
such help
much care
Probably would have been a good idea to do this at the beginning of the "Plus-for-all Summer" since that probably would have brought a bunch of people back.
I like it, but not sure how people would feel about getting emails like that.
Who would write them, and what would they really be about?
Thanks for all the help, guys. You're really trying hard keeping this site alive.
You all get an A for Asshats.
You should make a newsletter that only advertises our chatbox since that's the only part of the site that is even remotely active.

That's the point. The Newsletter is supposed to inform those to maybe check this site out again, maybe they'll stay. But I'll be sure to mention the chat as well.

What's that? You dont like forums? Well, check out our chatbox and meet all kinds of people. Maybe you'll even make new friends!

You need a proofreader.

And for the love of god, don't make "The SonicZone Team greets you to a beautiful day" the subject line.
>Berates about needing a proofreader.
>Makes obvious grammatical mistakes.
Forget is still the past tense of the word. The only time the word "forgotten" is applicable is when it's preceded by the word, "have".
QuoteDid you have forgotten us?
QuoteHave you forgotten us?
Meanwhile the word, "forgot" is only used in present-tense when not preceded by "have".
QuoteYou forgot us. What a dickwad.
The CORRECT form of the word here is, "forget".
QuoteDid you forget about us?
Christ, guys. You want to be professional writers and you don't even understand the basics of grammar. I learned this shit in third grade.
It was one spelling mistake, jkid. I don't need a whole English lesson on it.
When you're doing something like this you've gotta be professional about it. Besides, for all I know you honestly thought that was applicable.
English was my favorite subject in school so I get really giddy when I get to play grammar teacher.

I dunno, just call it "Sonic Zone Newsletter" or something.

If they don't bother reading the newsletter, they probably weren't interested in coming back to the site anyway.

Should I start with 'Greetings' or 'Dear SonicZone Members'?

Don't be too casual. "Dear Sonic Zone member" is fine.
It has been done.
I think.
I'm not sure.
It was weird.
I didn't get an e-mail.
You ruined everything.

=(
It said it was sending though. And the SMF took, like, a couple minutes to 100% send it. :V
Sonic Zone is dead and it's all your fault.
I got an e-mail yesterday, but for some reason it arrived in spam.
Checked my spam box but it's not in there either. Now I'm not even good enough to get spam?
Sounds like it glitched up...
And damn, SMF mass-messages get filtered...

Can you copy/paste the message into a forum post, plus title?
I'm going to try sending it again as a SZ PM, and PMs should spawn their own little mails saying you've recieved a PM and the content in it.

That sounds like a weird workaround. We should just try getting the mass e-mail thing to work again. Maybe the forum update fixed something.

I am so sorry, I don't have it anymore.
I usually don't keep my emails for more than a month, unless they are school/work related.

The one person that actually organises his mail account happens to be you. :V

Hm, maybe.
Maybe we should get someone else to do it though. We don't need you fucking up again.

Well, you're a mod now, so it's also part of your responsibility now.
Give it a go.
But I don't want to be blamed if something goes wrong again!
Make jkid do it. Everyone already hates him so nothing will change if he fucks it up.

I did find this, though:
Quote from John Gillis - April 4th 2013
"Hey guys, John here just letting you know that the Sonic ZONE site and forum are now back up and fully operational once again! I plan to work on theming the forum again soon to something more up-to-date and functional, but until then bare with me. Please help us keep the site's activity up by hanging out on the chat or forum! We hope to see you there soon!
- John Gillis, Administrator "

Wow, I've only been a mod for less than a week and you already trust me more. That either says a lot about me or a lot about jkid.

Poor jkid, I feel like I've seen a similar discussion in an anime.
jkid is the Sonic Zone punching bag.
Maybe I shouldn't just take it anymore.
