Title: Kill La Kill
Post by: shadowDOESrock on October 04, 2013, 05:59:08 AM
I dont fucking know
But it'll be the stupidest, yet most awesome, thing you'll watch since Panty and Stocking.

And it has an awesome OST, thanks to Hiroyuki Sawano. (Attack on Titan, Blue Exorcist: The Movie)

Its the first project by the new animation studio "Trigger". Currently, only the Project X Zone Opening is in their notable works.

For anyone that still isn't convinced, this anime is by the same people that did Gurren Lagann.

There's an anime called "Panty & Stocking"?

What will they think of next?

and Panty & Stocking.
So instead of finishing the story they're giving us this? Now I'm even less interested.

Are you just hating things again because they're being talked about?

Well, not Evangelion.

Its a comedy inspired by western adult cartoons like Drawn Together.

Yes, they also did Evangelion, google it.

Apparently because they made Evangelion soo depressing, they made all their future anime more light hearted and crazy, starting with FLCL.
From one extreme to another...

Wat
Only one guy of the crew worked on Evangelion - and that as Key Animator.
Director was Hideaki Anno - Who is still doing Evangelion, I might add.

Ahhh, that's what you mean...

Well Kill la Kill's animation studio "Trigger" was founded by two ex-Gainax employees...
Both of which have worked to some extend in the original Evangelion.
Both also being responsible for Gurren Lagann, FLCL and Panty & Stocking.

I suppose you could say they're also responsible for NG Evangelion, yeah

Y'know, when they shoed in episode 3 that Matoi and Satsuki fought on equal ground, I was worried about how the rest of the anime would play out...

But then they showed me it runs on Naruto logic, not DBZ logic, which I'm totally cool with.

What do you mean?
DBZ Logic: If B can defeat C,D,E,F and G, then if A can defeat B, then A will also be able to defeat C,D,E,F and G without question.

Naruto Logic: If Y can defeat Z, and X can defeat Y, it does not mean X can defeat Z.
Almost like the match up logic in fighting games.

One Piece also runs on that logic, which I appreciate.

None of this "He has more raw power, that means he HAS to win" bullshit.

Sawano found out about the Zimmer Horn there.
OST is amazing as always though -  That track at the Kiryuuin Manor scene and during the entire time that new girl was there *o*

Great episode once more.
I also found out that this is a double-season show, so 25 eps. yay

But I dunno how I feel about this anime being more serious than crazy lately...

Title: Re: Kill La Kill
Post by: Hakudamashi on December 15, 2013, 06:35:56 AM
I mean... It's gotten more "grounded", more "serious" more "established", more "It knows what it's doing now"
Rather than "I'm gonna avenge my dad, and all this shit happened on the way."

I can't properly explain...

We had a girl in a stripper outfit transforming into a jet, a loli using bass as a weapon.
Said loli being sliced naked.

Then a guy transforming into a giant robot.
Said giant robot being destroyed with just a pinkie from another loli
And a scene with a woman owning millions of clothes and shine in rainbow colours.

Oh yeah, and a guy using his entire body as keyboard to type in data for is pc.

If you're talking about that it actually has something that might resemble a story somewhat now...
... all I can say its anime.
