Alright, I know there's probably a thousand or more topics all over the internet about this very question here, but I want your opinions here. Which do you think is better and why?

Ah, I see where you're getting at. I'm more of a Sonic guy myself, I grew up playing all his games. Mario is ok, but he doesn't have the speedy feel of Sonic

I think Sonic is better than Mario because I play Sonic games most of the time and not Mario.
imma sonic, adn mario person, cause the first game i played was super mario, (although i got my ass kicked by level 2!!)
the first game i beat was super mario island 2:super mario bros 3 (I CHEATED BY CONSTANTLY GOIN TO THIS BOARD WITH A SH*TLOAD OF ENEMIES,AND A STAR!!!) the first thing of sonic i ever played/watched was sonic the hedgehog (the first tv show)/sonic chaos

Yes, the earlier games were amazing! Now Sonic Team is just turning Sonic towards his own downfall. But we could stop that from happening (and now I'm getting off my own topic)

I don't like the older ones mainly cause I wasn't into games back then
with that feeling being carried on for 7 years,no matter how many times I look back at it,all games from that era are "meh" to me

Well neither games make much sense. I like to slow down for the sake of perfect level design. But then I like to speed up just to speed up. So they're about equal for me

Hmm..........this is actually kinda hard for me :P while I LOVE Sonic Adventure 2: Battle I also LOVE Super Mario Galaxy. While I like Sonic Advance 2, I also liked New Super Mario Bros. UGH this shouldn't be hard...................I'd have to say Sonic. Cause, Mario games for me don't have that really "gotta keep playing" aspect. I still play Sonic Adventure 2: Battle. In fact, I'm playing through it right now

i grew up on mario teally, but i never really played vid games till recently, but then i discovered a blue hedgehog, and really, i'm a sonic due to fact that sonic games are about speed, w3hicgh is needed with some1 who has a short attention span
i like sonic because of speed and super forms.the super forms rock!
the closest thing mario has to a super form is a star that works for like....10 seconds and it doesnt make him any faster

I have noting against sonic, its just Sonic brags, has a bit of an aditude, and makes up the most downright wierd catchphrases("play with ya some other day", or "Way past cool"). They are both some of my favourite charecters, but out of both I'd have to pick the fat and jolly plumber. However if you ment game, and not charecter I'd pick Sonic.

sonic definately. I'n not saying i don't like mario games or anything, 'cause i get the games, but playing SA2:B is just WAY more fun. i love the speed. the fact that you have the ability to go that fast in a video game is awesome. but on the other hand... Mario is simple, sort of fun(when mario. when ur luigi its KICK ASS!!!) and has that nostalgia. when u think about it, mario IS more classic than sonic. he's been around since the 70's or 80's! but i do BY FAR prefer sonic. but one thing i'm dissapointed about sonic is:
1. WEREHOG?! WTF?
2. he dies? why?!
3. he kisses a HUMAN!!!
4. do i even have to say it? GENIE?
