Title: The Forum is Back Up. What Was Changed and What Was Broken?
Post by: jkid101094 on November 20, 2014, 08:43:39 PM
So the point of this three day hiatus was to upgrade the forum for it's 7th Birthday, however, nothing seems to have changed. In fact, I've already noticed two broken features being the karma buttons no longer having images and Youtube video links no longer adding the video to a post. Also it seems that the wait time to make a new topic has gotten longer.

What other things have been broken and what has been fixed? It'd be nice if we could get a changelog.

Changelog

All in all I'd say this was a pretty huge upgrade.

We should call this site ModeratorZone.

  • Elija2 is now a mod
Congratulations dude!

Wait, the forum was in hiatus only for Elija to become a mod?

The forums couldn't handle the greatness of me being a mod until they upgraded it.

MT was basically trying to update to SMF 2.0... and failed.

When I get home after my AP meeting tomorrow I'll attempt to do it myself. Hopefully there won't be much forum downtime when I try to.

Hey, if any admins are reading this please follow these instructions (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=528614.msg3751749#msg3751749) so I can use post previews again. Thank you in advance.

We were attempting to upgrade the forum, and MT said he will try again eventually. Sadly, I'm losing hope at this point. We've tried this countless times and nothing ever works. We did however update to the latest version of SMF 1.x so at least there's that. I'll see what I can do about the other issues mentioned, and thanks for informing us of what you noticed. Sorry for all the downtime though, I didn't expect that to happen.

Post previews still don't work on Firefox. I am outraged.

Also, is it just me or did a bunch of peoples avatars get lost into the ether?

That happened to me many times the forum updated, although I never gave it too much thought.

In less than a week we lost two mods. Good thing you guys put me on the job, otherwise you'd be low on staff!

Also, post previews still aren't working in Firefox and it hurts me so bad.

Did anyone notice that our avatars and titles are at the bottom of our posts now, as opposed to under our ranks where they used to be? Someone should really get on to fixing these issues.

To be fair, I'm not wearing my glasses.
