And you didn't grab me with your characters, setting, world, game mechanics, or script?
If I can't find a single thing to make me want to keep trucking after giving 3 hours of my life, then that game isn't worth my time.

I prefer the digital event.

999 didn't grab you in the first 3 hours (except for the characters I guess) and you still finished and loved that game.

And New Vegas is a massive game, of course you didn't meet the interesting characters in the first three hours (and you didn't give enough time for the characters you did meet to become interesting). It's also praised for having great writing, but of course you haven't experienced any of that yet since you're still at the very beginning of the game.
