Sonic Zone

This may be WELL over old news, but i just found out about this rumor yesterday(As of this post),
and when i did, i froke out but in a positive way, it would be AWESOME if he is my two
favorite video game characters, playable, in a platformer, FOR THE FIRST TIME,
thats just plain cool.

Your thoughts?

I don't like this. I'm not sure why, but it doesn't seem right. It just feels wrong to me, almost morally wrong. I don't know, maybe it's just carry-over from back in the day when these two were basically at war with each other.

I dunno, it doesn't seem SO bad. It could show that Sonic can butt in on Mario's territory, but Mario can't get into Sonic.  ;D

Well, most loved this idea a few years ago, plus, Mario and Sonic teaming up has been done
before, yet no one said anything about that, not trying to smash your opinion though.

it seems that mario and sonic have slowly become friends since sega became third party

In what will probably be the strangest rumor this weekend, a new slice of gossip is claiming that Sonic the Hedgehog will be a playable character in Mario Galaxy 2. In a way, that's very plausible -- if you've not been able to star in any decent games yourself for the past ten years, why not gatecrash someone else's game?

The rumor's being spread by NGamer, a UK-based Nintendo Magazine. According to NGamer, a "trusted source" at Nintendo has spilled the beans, explaining that Sonic will be in a stage called "Green Hill Galaxy."

These guys could just be yanking our cranks, but it would kind of make sense. We already know that Mario and Sonic are more than happy teaming up, with the Mario & Sonic games and Super Smash Bros. Brawl being prime examples. Also, with the announcement of Sonic 4, it would be good for Sonic to get as much face time with the public as possible.

Then again, this was posted Friday night, so the NGamer chaps might just have been drunk and screwing with us. Who knows?

I seriously doubt this is true. SEGA and NINTENDO don't put other companies characters in their games under normal circumstances.

As has been said, this is just a rumor. BUT, it's apparently from a "very reliable source," as Destructoid put it.

It's as if Sonic Team is saying

I'm not saying that the rumor's true. I'm just saying that the rumor has some weight to it. In all honesty, I don't think it's true and I pretty much completely hope that it isn't.

well, yeah. you dont really need proof about sonic not being in a mario game anyway. i mean, who would have designed tht concept anyway!

There's already one series of Mario and Sonic games.

This is the last time I'll say this. The rumor came from a reliable source, but there's been no further talk or evidence. Until either we get some kind of official announcement, a clearer leak, or the game comes out, we won't know for sure.

i doubt sonic would appear in supermario galaxy how would he fit in with the story

If Sonic does appear (Not saying he will be) They mine as well replace the title as Mario & Sonic Galaxy 2.

I kind of like it since I like Mario and Sonic very much but  I like sonic more.They should atleast ask SEGA if they could put sonic in.
