Do you mean like, how do we put charcters into our signatures?
well first you create your sig, then upload it to tinypic or other site that works the same way,
it will give you multiple codes, copy the IMG code, now go to edit your profile and paste the image code where it says signature
then when posting If you want your sig to apear click aditional options, and select that thing where isn't written anything

To make them?
Use Paint, Paint.Net, GIMP, Photoshop, or any other image editing program.
Or you can have just plain text.
Then, you do what Ioshyriku said, and upload it, and edit your profile.
Then, to show it, just search the forum, there are plenty of threads that show you how to show your signature on the forum. :3
