I have it. Bowser hasn't softened up in the main games, though. The Mario RPGs are supposed to be funny, and the main series of games kinda works as a counter balance. Besides, when do spin-offs

The Mario RPG's aren't spinoffs.
There is no such thing as a Mario 'Spinoff', aside from games like Luigi's Mansion and SPP.
Contrary to popular belief, Mario has no timeline.
Also, in many Mario games, Bowser accepted his defeats, and praised Mario for keeping a strong rivalry going.
