Why noobs use tons of smilies in their posts? I cannot grasp this concept. I don't mean posts that are only smilies. I get that. It's spam. And really lazy spam at that. But why the EFF do they post a ton of 'em in not-so-spammy posts?
Because they think that's what we do and they try to fit in. That's my theory anyway.

They click the smiley once, it doesn't come up, click it a bunch of times, then all of em pop up, and they couldn't bother to erase em

Other than that, it's because they ask a question, and noone answers them, because they're pathetic and evil, and then the "noob" gets frustrated, and posts lots of question marks, which then turn into this: ???.
