I HIGHLY doubt Steam or iTunes is going to cease to exist. Nor to I think this is going to spread.
Besides, I live in AU, if this spreads, I'm pretty much safe for a long time coming.
But in saying that, it's not going to. Those affected should quickly change, and even then, digital distribution companies WILL have something to say about it.

OK, but I live in America. I think we actually already HAVE something like this, but even still, this is kinda a big deal for me considering my family can barely afford internet AS IS. If this thing spreads around and the price goes up...remember my 3-month vacay? Yeaaaaahhhh...
It's not going to spread. Like I said, people like Valve and Apple will throw a hissy fit at lost business.
