my favorite sonic game of ALL time has to be not sonic 3 alone not sonic & knuckles alone but *drumroll* Sonic 3 & knuckles! just because of the multiple pathways and awesome music + the level design is spectacular!

Sonic 3 & Knuckles. I first played in Sonic Mega Collection, though.
Of all sonic games, I would narrow my choice down to Sonic Adventure, Sonic Adventure 2, and Sonic 3 & Knuckles. Sonic Adventure was the first Sonic game I ever played, so I love it. Sonic Adventure 2 has incredible replay value to me with the improved chao garden and addicting stages. Sonic 3 & Knuckles because it had marvelous level design and was just a massive game over all.
If I had to pick only one, then I would say Sonic Adventure 2, I'm sorry for those who oppose me, but I love this game as a whole.

I swear, some of these opinions are so obscure.
My favorite will always be Sonic Colors.
Mine is still Sonic 3 & Knuckles, followed by Generations (although I suck at it).
