The long anticipated Horror-Sci-Fi-Shooter by SEGA seems to finally hit shelves next year on the Wii U, PC, Xbox 360 & Playstation 3.
Aliens: Colonial Marines will bring new levels of bone-chilling suspense and adrenaline-filled action to the renowned franchise. The game pits players against the universe's ultimate alien killing machines, the Xenomorphs, in claustrophobic environments guaranteed to produce blood curdling thrills that the movie is renowned for.
"Aliens: Colonial Marines will be THE definitive ALIENS gaming experience," said Gary Knight, Senior Vice President of Marketing at SEGA Europe and SEGA of America. "Gearbox Software are doing a brilliant job translating the thrill and horror that ALIENS stands for into an action-packed shooter experience with co-operative gameplay at its core."
Gary Rosenfeld, Senior Vice President of New Media for Fox Consumer Products added, "It's no easy task to take on one of the most influential films of all-time, but SEGA and Gearbox are not going to disappoint. This game will be a must-have for fans of the ALIENS franchise and gamers around the globe."
The Game will pickup directly after James Camerons Aliens, telling the fate of the untold rescue team.

Just not Alien Ressurection.

How bad is it?
Really bad. Its just another teenie blood splatter movie with no plot whatsoever. Kinda like AvP2, but with a budget.
The Story ends with Alien 3 anyway. A:R takes place 200 years later and deals with cloning and space pirates.
Infact, its so bad even the Nostalgia Critic made an Episode about it.
Thanks for the heads up.

I have the PC Version, so no issues with graphics and framerates... nor have i encountered any glitches.
Well, once.
And the Sewer Stage is one of the best stages i've ever played...
Then again, i'm not playing this like it would be Call of Duty - i never sprint unless i need to.
I dont get it... :/

Do you also excuse the story?

I saw nothing wrong with the Story.
...aside from the Ending.
I mean, while i really like and enjoy this game, i can still tell that its not really finished...
...and then do have a cliffhanger ending? No.
Now, i might add that i might just like this game because i like old-school shooters and this feels... like an old-school shooter.
Which is more of curse than a blessing for most people.
I dont like stuff like Battlefield 3, Crysis 3 or whatever, so yeah.
And if we go by user-ratings on Metacritic, it seems that people either love this game or hate this game. : /
This game looks like it'll never evolve beyond guilty pleasure.

Here it just seems that people where so hyped up for this and when ultimately "just" this was delievered the shitstorm started.

So what you're saying is, whether it's a bad game or not is debatable, but it is a huge disappointment.

So, why arent we treating games like movies?
Because we invented 2 different words cause they do 2 different things?

no
Why arent we treating videogames like movies?
Why arent we treating videogames like someones creation but simply as a "product"?
And yet you treat the companies that do handle videogames like a product like shit.

You didn't know any better...
So, Sega has agreed to pay $1.25 Million USD for fraud. Unfortunately, out of the almost 150'000 People who sued, each will only get about $5.
Meanwhile, Gearbox said the lawsuit was 'without merit' and 'frivolous' and has requested to be removed from the action.
"Attempting to wring a class action lawsuit out of a demonstration is beyond meritless. We continue to support the game, and will defend the rights of entertainers to share their works-in-progress without fear of frivolous litigation."
What lawsuit was this?

What lawsuit was this?
Sega and Gearbox got sued by almost 150'000 People in the US as well as the UK Government over the Aliens: Colonial Marines fraud. They purposefully marketed the game using CG Footage, saying it'd be actual gameplay.
Sega has to brand all marketing material in the UK with 'Does not represent sold product.' and now agreed to pay $1.25 Million in the US.
Sega has also wanted to (but since retracted) to sue Gearbox for not keeping their promises about the game, as well as using ACM's budget Sega gave them for Borderlands 2 instead, as well as not actually developing the game themselves, instead outsourcing it.
So why couldn't SEGA sue Gearbox for those reasons?

who knows.
Maybe there was some behind the scenes agreement or they're more guilty thant they're willing to admit?
At this point it's also known that 2K knew about Gearbox's misappropriate use of the budget.

This is mainly Gearbox and Sega.
