Yup I know lol... idk how a direct sequel could even work.. although the cop dude does resemble an older Junpei

A direct sequel *could* make some sense, potentally. But given the game is completely different in alot of ways, I don't think it'd compliment 999 well. For example, the voice acting.

Voice acting is a plus IMO. My dad is dyslexic and can't read a game like 999, yet when I tell him of the plot I get his full attention because he loves mystery type things

Well, it's another Nonary game just in a different setting.

It says this on the 999 Answers page:

If there were to be [a sequel]...I would come up with completely different characters, and then mix in some of the characters from 999 and build a story from that. Of course, the setting will be them being stuck in a room that they can't get out of. Storyline would be after the events of 999. ...Of course, this is all hypothetical.

Also this:

To be honest, it's possible that what went on in Building Q might have just been the prologue to an even larger scheme. If that was the case, then you could say that they were heading off to prepare the rest of their plan after the true ending.

For example, the voice acting.

I think that something they wanted to do in 999 was include voice acting, but they couldn't due to cash or size constraints. The writer of these games says he wished that the part with young Akane and Junpei in the incinerator was voiced. The voice acting will likely be japanese-only anyway and it's being done by supposed famous japanese voice actors. As long as there isn't too much high-pitched screaming it should be good.

When I mentioned voice acting, I was saying that voice acting would suit the new characters well, but affect our ideas of the old ones, for better or worse. Get what I'm sayin'?

yeah.. but given the intensity of the story it'd make a pretty damn big impact.

As they're both sprites instead of 3D models I honestly wouldn't doubt it, though still makes me kinda curious.

Some of the characters from 999 will probably be mentioned in this game, considering it's another Nonary Game.

Plus that pink-haired girl has to be related to Clover in some way.

It's likely. I bet the stories will be tied in some way, I just don't want them to get the old story too involved unless it can really compliment the first game.

And hm. Maybe? Who knows. xD

That's what I was thinking.
Quite a few of the characters there resemble ones from the first game.

it would be epic if the 3ds version had puzzles where you had to close an eye to see something hidden

The screen is designed to project one image into each eye so, while it'd normally just go flat, I suppose that's possible...

But that's the thing, the game is coming out for both 3DS and Vita. The games will likely have the same puzzles, so I don't see how they could do anything like that. The twist at the end of 999 was amazing, but in this game they'll probably have to do something that can be done on both systems.

That is, unless the differences between both versions is part of the twist...

Also, the writer of both games has a Twitter account. All Japanese though.

Also, doing that would not only differenciate both versions, but it'd force you to use 3D. That's a no-go.

Wouldn't that be a little.. mean? It's like they're forcing you to get both games to fully get the story that way.
Unless I'm just not understanding

If it has, I've avoided it. Because I don't wanna buy two nearly identical games just to get one small twist in the story.
Title: Extreme Escape Adventure: Good People Die
Post by: Proto_Blaze on December 14, 2011, 08:59:21 AM
Hey as you guys know I am addicted to this series... soooooo... I wanted to be the first to post this

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=XBlIgT4lFjg# (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=XBlIgT4lFjg#)!

For those who can't understand what they are saying... here is the trailer in a nutshell

Sigma gets kidnapped and wakes up next to Phi. They escape the room and meet the others who introduce themselves and tell them of the Elevators. Zero pops out to welcome them. The watches work in a way where you play in pairs. The two rotating options were "help" and "Betray". If you betray, you get some of their points and vice versa. If you each help, you get one point. if you each betray, nothing happens. (from my understanding and previously viewed info.) if your watch point hits 0... you die... if it hits 9... you make it out alive. Thats about all thats needed to know from the trailer to understand whats going on.

Here is a crap load of info about the game

What I gather from this...999 SPOILERS

Alice (All-Ice?) and Clover are in this game.
The game is set one year after 999.
Alice met Clover one year ago, so it was Alice at the end of 999.

This info may be wrong though. I don't want to spoil anymore of this game for me.
