This day 15 years ago, I saw Dragonball Z for the first time. There is a chance I would not be the person I am today if I hadn't watched that TV show that day. I never would have seen anime as something separate from cartoons. I never would have known animation didn't need to be nothing more than flashing colors and slapstick jokes. And I'm not saying this show itself changed my life. But if I had to track the line of what made me who I am back to the origin, DBZ would be near there. Maybe I should say Toonami itself is what had the largest impact on my life, but DBZ was a huge part of Toonami and thus a huge factor in forging my personality.
Heck, if I hadn't been watching TV that day, I might have... GONE OUTSIDE! XD
Anyway, today is kinda a big deal for me. Not quite a birthday or anything, but... y'know :3
And if you watched ANY anime on TV between 97 and 09, you have DBZ to thank. So show some respect.

I remember watching DBZ all those years ago as well.. Though, I think it was released a little later over here.
Was a huge fan of the show - and especially LOVED the Android Saga!
...Might see if I can find a box set or something.. or worse - Download them all.
Just a question - Didn't they Re-Release them in HD somewhere a little while ago? I think I remember someone on my old college course go on about it some time ago.
Well, there's a few options. But you want the Dragon Box sets. They are a little pricy, but they're worth it. Its the best release there is. I started getting the orange boxes a few years ago and they suck.
Next, the show is getting a full HD transfer on Blu-ray, but I don't think those are out yet and even if they are only the first is out.
Then you've got Kai, which is like an official abridged version if you don't know. Its available on Blu-ray too.
