I'm going to start watching the Pokemon anime again.
Because Cynthia and Caitlin as main characters. That's why.

I just thought that the story is supposed to restart everytime he finishes a region? Just as a way for newcomers of the anime not to be confused to see why the main character is able to win without trying.

It's possible for a war veteran to enter new territory and still get his ass kicked.
Still, Pikachu alone should be able to handle almost anything at the level it must be at by now.

In Ash's defense Iris
does kind of look like an animal.
We all know why I even pay any sort of attention to the anime. So I can edit the Sinnoh Series and make it better. =P
At this point though, it's just disrespectful what they've done to Ash. How many newcomers can there be every season? Anyone who starts watching at say...six years old? They're gonna NOTICE if something weird happened when they turned ten, it's not like they just STOP watching, Pokemon isn't Sesame Street. <_<

Dude, the thing he was looking in the Pokedex was brown/green, he threw his pokeball at something purple.
Given Ash's experience of travelling through the different regions, he should've realised that the purple thing may have been someone holding the pokemon the pokedex was talking about, since the pokedex never said the purple thing was a pokemon.

And who reboots an already bad franchise and make it worse? Sonic the Hedgehog that's who, but that's not the point.
The only people that can possibly still find some enjoyment out of the anime are little kids.

He destroys a bike at the beginning of every new region he meets a different female. Except in Black....
The anime is designed to run as long as possible. Like Sazae-san or Detective Conan/Case Closed. If the characters had the same kind of development a normal anime has, they would become useless after awhile story-wise. That's a reason why at least one person in the group has been rotated in and out in the transition between (most) regional shifts.
Pokemon is a kids-show, jesus.
It doesnt need to be consistent or anything.
No one gives a fuck about a consistent development in kids shows.

I'm sure there's still plenty that could be done with Ash if his character developed along with his journies, cause I still think that it is possible for a war veteran to get his ass kicked in new territory.
I mean, have Ash show that yes, he remembers all his past experiences, like how you should NOT use electric attacks against a grass type, but the PKMN in the Unova region are soo "different" that all his previous knowledge of all the other PKMN he's fought is useless.
Yeah, it sounds like that'll be just a waste of time, but at least this way he won't make mistakes not even a PKMN n00b would...

Woah what? Excuse me? Just because it's a "kid's show" that means it has to be sh*t as long as there's violence?
lolno, Thundercats was a "kids show" and it's plot is f*cktons alot more well-rounded than most adult movies these days.
If it's as you say, "kids just want to see pokemon battling and have a fun time." then why not have a consistent well made plot to go with it? What's the harm?
With all the sh*t on T.V. these days, are you really ok with children be subjected
only to cartoons with zero plot and only violence? Cause I remember back in my childhood I had Thundercats and G-Force to go with my Looney Tunes and Tom&Jerry.
That is true. Kids show or not, any story without basic structure like character development will fail to keep an audience's attention. Ash is meant to be the avatar of the viewer in Pokemon. He is also kept somewhat incompetent so new viewers can be introduced to elements of the universe like type match-ups. They could do this in a different way though, and they usually do in later seasons. It's usually the new character(s) that have been rotated into the group that have to learn those kinds of things.
Anyway, Ash throwing a pokeball at Iris was just supposed to be slapstick.

They did it with May, they did it Dawn, I don't see why they couldn't do it with Hilda instead of using Iris and making Ash the newb.
I'm even more upset by this cause I like Hilda's character design best out of the PKMN female protagonists... in a non pedophile kinda way.

Oh God, I thought she was just making a CAMEO. Apparently not, so DAWN gets to make a comeback but the most popular Pokegirl in history has to be forgotten? It feels like the Pokemon people are going out of their way to make people forget Misty ever existed. I am now officially ticked off.

You just say this as a Misty fan. Besides, Misty got two entire regions worth of seasons. May, Dawn and Iris have been, or will be, swapped out from their debut. You also forget this is only for the second season of B/W. If I'm to remember correctly each region gets about three, no? Dawn shouldn't be around that long anyway.
Also, IMO, I prefer May to Misty but White to May. I wish they had here appearing in place of Dawn but I guess this one is for the kids who grew up with Dawn around. Also, I'm not sure who is popular in Japan. The anime is made there, not here.
Though I would explode if Leaf showed up for whatever reason, but I can only hold my breath. :c

Misty also came back in the special DVD that came with Lucario and the Mystery of Mew. That thing with the Phantom trainer.
Misty fans saying Misty gets no respect is like telling a Sonic fan that Shadow gets no respect. Sure, it's been quite awhile since they've been in the limelight but at least the creators seem to care more about them than Leaf and Mighty.

Misty:

You know I have a lot of respect for you and all but I think you can admit that sentence made you sound as if you were speaking for more people then yourself. That's why I was trying to say that that wasn't the case because, personally, even growing up with the first few seasons, I can say I'd rather see more of the other characters.
Though I'm still waiting to see Brock again. Cutting him out was just...why.
Well I guess I AM speaking for more people than just myself. The people I associate myself with are all like me, livid over the fact that Misty used to get so much attention and then just like that she's not just abandoned, she's FORGOTTEN. There's a reason my story has over 1100 reviews, and it's because I'm doing what the Pokemon people SHOULD HAVE done a long time ago. I'm sure other fan bases will disagree with me, but even non-Misty fans will have to admit, she was unique as opposed to May and Dawn, who were pretty much the same character with different designs and Pokemon. That's my opinion on the subject.
As for Brock...just goes to show just how dumb the Pokemon people are. Trading Brock for CILAN? I played the game and I'm STILL wondering, what makes Cilan worthy of being Ash's travelling partner? That was wrong, just wrong.
And here's another thing I just realized...Dawn's coming back right? Cynthia's coming back right? If I recall, Ash is the one who TAUGHT Dawn how to be a Pokemon trainer. Sinnoh is the only era I can think of where Ash was actually able to think things through and put up a good fight no matter who he was up against, he made reasonable, dare I say logical decisions and always had a plan when fighting battles...with the BW reboot, where Ash is now, once again, as dumb as a beginner trainer...how does THAT work? I'm sure that kids who watched Sinnoh are still gonna watch BW, they're not THAT FAR away from each other. And any kid who was a brain, is gonna notice if Dawn suddenly becomes the one lecturing Ash, and if she doesn't, they're SURE to do something else, which will make kids wonder what happened to the entire era prior to BW.
Sorry for ranting, but the way they're going about this is purely asinine. In fact it's asinine, asi-ten, asi-eleven, asi-twelve!
You're expecting way too much of the Pokemon anime. It is not that kind of show. There are two kinds of long-running anime. Things like One Piece, that feature a ton of character development and story progression. And things like Doraemon, where the characters are just about as developed as they'll ever be from the start, and most of the development that does occur "wears off" after awhile, and the story is mostly episodic with only small story arcs. Pokemon is in the Doraemon category. It was implied that Misty and Ash had feelings for each other, heavily so in the dub. If Misty comes back on a permanent basis, that will HAVE to be addressed in some form. Having the two break things off will only make people mad. Having them hook up will only complicate things for younger viewers who may have never even seen her before and will probably require at least one whole episode dedicated to the situation. Not bringing it up directly at all, just further hints at the relationship, would make the most sense... but then what's the point? The characters are not going to develop much, since it would complicate the story progression in the long run, so having the relationship only hinted at is never going to pay off. Rotating in new characters allows the process to go on unheeded without becoming stale. Granted, it's not what someone who's been watching the show for a decade or someone outside of the target demographic is going to want to see, but the show isn't for those people. If they watch it too, that's a bonus, but you have to craft your show for your target audience. So Misty coming back probably isn't going to happen.
Not that I wouldn't want her to come back. She was much more fleshed out than any of the other girls. But I just don't see how they could handle it. If they never had gotten rid of her, the show would probably have worked fine in the way I described too, but I don't see how they could bring her back and it work.
Meh, never liked Misty anyway.
And where the f*ck is Hilda
