The article take the stance that this would be incredibly difficult... but I don't think it would be as impossible as they think. Most of what keeps the internet functional is easy to get to and easy to destroy. The only problem would be synchronizing the attacks and taking out the more heavily guarded pieces. But most of it is barely guarded, if at all. IF a group got it in their heads to do this and IF they were organized enough, I think it is definitely doable.
