I like Bleach and I like Music.
And I really like good Music.
So, Bleach Soul Ressurection is a first-party Sony-Title in Japan and was brought over by NIS America. Mkay?
All the Music is in the Game belongs to Sony Music Entertainment, so there shouldnt be rights issues. Mkay?
So, in Japan... they get this

Thanks to NIS America, overseas we get this

What is this shit.
I know none of you care, but i just had to let my rage out somewhere.
Changing a great track with that generic piece of shit stock music.
So? Neither song is bad. =P
This has been happening for years anyway. It's not just NIS America. Just look at this:
American:

Japanese:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fNUAWJqyGDc (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fNUAWJqyGDc)
The video is of the anime's opening but they're the same thing.
Great anime, by the way. All of you should watch it.
Well yeah, but thats for a TV Show, happens more often.
But the "Bleach" one was about a Videogame. A frickin' videogame. =L
And you actually like the american track? I thought it was horrible. >.<
The Show has all the same opening music.
As for that Bomberman, again, the Japanese Track is better. :l

No, no. You don't understand.
The company that made the anime acquired the rights from Hudson or whatever and in response Hudson made a game using resources and characters from the anime (they fucked the story sideways, btw). The game used the anime's intro in Japan but when localized they swapped it for the American one I showed you above.

Well, thats stupid. Especially considering the Japanese Openings are generally way better - even for western audiences.
Is it so hard to simple put in subs instead of making a completely new track? :/
It happens sometimes. The Eureka seveN games lost their original opening song too when they were brought over here. It's probably not NISA's fault.
How can they suck? They released Disgaea, GrimGrimoire, Mana Khemia, and Ar tonelico!

Overly Japanese songs are off putting to some people. Japanese companies are afraid their games won't sell as well with Japanese music.
The switch is understandable but stupid.
It'd be nice for the option for the original Japanese music, yeah, but how often do you watch game intros anyway?

I'm pretty sure the generic stock music has a even worse effect.
And i like to watch openings when i launch a game... when they're good that is. Which is rare nowdays.

Out of those, i only heard of Disgaea.
What about intros where they use the Japanes soundtrack, but remove the lyrics?

Sh*t, just realised it's the same thing, well, some games I think pull it off very well.

Personally, i wouldnt be able to call out one title from the top of the head that does so.
Not for a game anyway.

Oh wow. That makes... one.
And about the Bleach Soul Resurrection Opening - what makes me grind my gears even more is that the same track is being used in one of the newer seasons openings which AIRS ON AMERICAN TV. Unchanged. So, i really dont see why they changed it.

Three times, apparantly.

The Title actually makes it seem like they know its bad.

It's all about having kickass instruments in the first place, so sometimes, the vocals actually ruin a song...

Oh my god, we had the proper song in the PAL Version.

Cause America is a complete entity that exists on another plane of existence separate from the rest of the world.
That opening has not been used in America yet. Its possible that Viz didn't have the rights to it yet and NISA licensing it themselves would have been too costly.

But... the Track is OWNED by SME - which is Sony.
This Game was developed by Sony Studios Japan.
This Game was published by Sony Computer Entertainment in Japan.
Sony Game with Sony Music.... sooo....
There's still licensing costs. Just because Sony owns it in Japan doesn't mean they have the rights to release it internationally or to license it to other companies.

but they have the right to block it internationally?
Actually, it sounds like they used a remade instrumental for the US release.
I always like the Japanese exclusives in Anime and Games, the dubbing sometimes can be horrible enough to bear.

C'mon dude, he said
sometimes
I honestly haven't seen a bad dub in years. Definitely haven't seen a bad one on TV in a looong time if you don't include 4kids. Game dubs... okay, I've heard a few duds.
I dont like dubs where the girls have squeeky voices.
It makes sense in Japanese because Japanese Women actually have high-pitched voices.
But if you're dubbing into English/German and try to imitate those high-pitched voices...
Enter Madoka Magica's English Dub.

NIS America are the twats who took Cave Story 3D and won't give it to us >:I
*shakes fist in the air in blinding, yet controlled rage*

It's not so much the voices that are ticking me off, it's the voice acting...
I'm still pissed off about this.
I'd import it via play-asia (i mean, its even 15 bucks cheaper to import it new from japan than it is buying the NIS Version new)...
but no credit card lol
Get one of those disposable ones.
