NOTE: The Game Will Have Another Title
(http://www.powersonic.com.br/noticias/uploads/sa3m.png)
It seems that the next Sonic game has already announcement date: 03/03/2013! Also, has someone realized that the date has many numbers "3"? It would be pure coincidence, or one more tip? We'll know soon.
"The Adventure Continues".
Well, true fans know that Sonic has that smile and those eyes.
No.
Why is everyone on this shit about SA3?

They're clinging to nostalgia because they think SA1 and SA2 are the best Sonic games in existence and no other 3D Sonic has topped them. After playing SA and SA2 again recently, I can see how badly they've aged and how rushed they actually were, not to mention the hilariously bad voice acting.
There technically was an SA3, it was called Sonic Heroes(it takes place after the events of SA2).

Sonic '06 played more like Adventure, but Heroes actually takes place after the events of SA2, whereas Sonic '06 doesn't. So yeah, Heroes is the real SA3, and Shadow the Hedgehog is SA4.

So by that logic Sonic & Knuckles is Sonic 4 and Sonic 4 is Sonic 5. =P

Sonic & Knuckles is just a compilation of levels taken out of Sonic 3 due to time constraints, and when you lock on the cartridge to Sonic 3 you get the complete game.
What I'm saying is that Sonic Heroes LITERALLY takes place after Sonic Adventure 2, and Shadow the Hedgehog takes place after Heroes, so they're technically SA3 and SA4 in a way. They aren't huge chunks of another game sliced into two separate games that must be locked on to the other game to get the full experience.

Does Generations take place after the events of Colors? I'm actually not too sure on that one. :V

Near the end Eggman starts talking about how he got out of space and met the Time Eater so I'd assume they aren't far apart.
Since when does Jon give a fuck about Sonic games?
Yes, the badly written story of Sonic Generations directly ties up with the badly written story of Sonic Colours.
I thought the name was attached to the gameplay style, not story wise... but then that puts Sonic Unleashed, Colours and Generations in a bind...
2D & 3D merged zones doesn't sound very sonic adventure to me. But well we see, I'll patiently wait on an official announcement.
Something like colors & generations would be fine with me gameplay-wise. But the Sonic games really need a good storyline again. And by my experience there were the best at the dreamcast & gamecube titles.
As for a 'timeline' in sonic, I think it's simply a game releases, and what happens after that is the next Sonic game. So I agree on the fact that Generations take place after Colors. The last zone in Generations is from Colors too so I'm sure it doesn't take place before it. (And if it did, why didn't they add more 'future' zones?.

ur right on sonic generatiins taking after sonic colors because eggman says before the final battle he says his most recent setback in the video and it shows him with orbot and cubebot
I think the tone of the next Sonic story should be like Sonic & the Secret Rings. It had the perfect mix of fun, serious and ridiculous.

I've been watching Clement's playthrough of that game and I...kinda have to agree.
If nothing else Sonic's attitude in that game was spot on with how I imagine him.

theres one guy on youtube known as anon7906 and he uploaded sonic & the secret rings gameplay and it was about 4 fucken hours on youtube i never saw anyone beat the game in 4 hours
Sonic Adventure 3 may explain how did Metal Sonic has been rebuilted.
(Like Sonic 4 Episode Metal)
The title could be:
Sonic adventure 3- Metal Adventure ( and don't think that Shadow will appear in Sonic Adventure 3, because he died in SA2 and just appeared again in Sonic heroes)
Guys... we can't be too sure of this. What if it's just another rumor, like SA3 was Sonic 06, and SA3 was Sonic Unleashed?

I don't care what else they write. That doesn't make them good Sonic writers.
I mean, I like them more than most people. I think they do a good job, but it feels like they could be doing better.
Also Happy Tree Friends is horrible.

Quit calling people names for no reason. You don't like it when people do it to you.
They arent really writers for Story.... more for jokes.
In MadWorld / Anarchy Reigns the Story itself wasnt written by them.
Now, i guess the Idea behind this is to bring back the "good ol' one-liner shitting corny sonic"
...buuuuuut, people who's humour is based on satire, absurdity and being edgy aren't the right choice - because then we get no copyright law in the universe is going to stop me.
Not like all the jokes in Sonic Colors were bad.
Kyo, look at Erik's personal text, lol
so....no SA3....? :C
THIS GAME WILL NEVER HAPPEN.
I knew there wasn't going to be a Sonic Adventure 3 (as usual), but I do wish they would announce a new Sonic game soon. I feel like the Sonic franchise is on hiatus or something :/
Well we did get the Sonic Dash iOS game ^^
Well SEGA might be rough on money but they aren't Capcom. I doubt they'd put their company mascot on 'hiatus'.
There's still E3 for big announcements and the rest of 2013. On top of that we did get the Sonic Adventure 2 remake, Sonic Jump and Sonic Dash since Generations and that was only two years ago.
They're having hard times, sure, but even if SEGA went bankrupt I'm positive that the Sonic franchise would fall into capable hands *cough*Nintendo*cough*.

Yeah, but the ones in Colors were much more bearable than most others.
