Why don't anime ever get crossovers like The Avengers or Batman/Superman stories, or that Ah! Real Monsters/Rugrats special? There are games based on anime where crossovers happen, but not so much actual shows where characters from different series interact. The only ones I could think of off the top of my head were the 3D Yu-Gi-Oh! movie and the Lupin the 3rd/Case Closed movie.
Wikipedia lists a few more: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Crossover_anime_and_manga
Why aren't there more? Are there any you would want to see? Remember, I'm talking TV series/OVA/movies. Not games.
I'm sorry but Carnival Phantasm was the best crossover anime ever.

Bleach + Deathnote
One Piece + Fairy Tail
Soul Eater + Pokemon
There was a One Piece/Toriko/Dragonball Z crossover earlier this year.

Give me Yu-Gi-Oh x Shin Megami Tensei or give me death.
#But don't really give me death.
Clannad x School Days.
Digimon meets Pokemon.
