Man we gotta talk about this game!!! this is what got me really pumping into the sonic franchise when it first came out! I spent countless hours trying to get super sonic in sonic the fighters... played sonic R's multiplayer to bits... and never fully beat sonic CD cuz I kept getting lost at the final zone!
Even Tails' Adventures was a good game when you got the cheats for it :D

Sonic R was the only reason I bought it. As well as fighters too.
I really only bought it for Sonic CD but Sonic the Fighters was great
