So he basically hates her she's popular in Japan...?

I do like the idea of synthetic relationships, though.

I don't hate Miku, I just don't get why she's as popular as she is...

From what I understand, Miku, like all the other vocaloids, are simply voices attached to bodies that sings music.
I just don't get, if what makes Vocaloids soo appealing is their music and their voices and not their characters(since they have none), then why don't the voice actresses and actors become the idols?

It's synthesized, like a text to speech. It's just samples of the singers, not the singers themselves.

But they still supplied their voices, and can't they use those synthesisers for the actors if they were to be on stage or something?

I'm sure the actresses have careers outside of Vocaloid. No need to confuse people, right? Besides, their voices are obviously synthetic so they'd sound weird coming out of a human.

I dunno what you mean by confusing, but autotuned signing is still a thing, I don't think it'd be weird...
