So I figured I'd ask you guys. I really want to know. I feel like if we list our reasons we could track down a decent few key points.
Love, Lust, Togetherness.
We're like Cats, basically.
Elaborate, because I can think of other reasons.
Because we want someone to love, and stay together with potentially for life?
But why do we want those things?
I want someone reliable to cover my weaknessess
I want someone strong, for I am weak
I want someone active in the morning, for I am active in the night
I want an overachiever, for I am an underachiever
I want someone who a leader, for I am a follower
I search for my other half, the one who is everything I am not, so we can become a whole perfect being.
I wish for children, a envoy to carriy my genes so I can continue to exist for eternity, to do this, I need a companion. A companion who can coexist with me for eternity, for my child requires guidance, guidance of those who can shim him/her the good, and the evil of the world

Not really sure what discussion there is to have. People are attracted to other people for many different reasons. People date to express their commitment to their relationship. Not everyone is interested in a relationship though, and if you aren't then that's fine.

I get what you mean, sorta. Honestly, with those videos you puushed, it's obvious that some men think with their dicks and not their minds. Lots of us still have very good reasons to look for girlfriends though.
For one, there's the concept of sharing your life with them. Share all your experiences with them on a level higher than any other. Look out for each other. Make each others' days. Things like that. At one point, you realize how lonely life can be alone and you think of what it would be like to live it alongside someone else. Or at least, that's my reasoning for wanting a girlfriend.
Then there's being in love with someone, which is a royal pain in the ass but carries the sweetest feeling you'd ever know if you could actually do it right.
tl;dr guys want girlfriends for more than just sex and sandwiches
In the end it all boils down to the fact that it's nature, really.
