Title: So I Actually Got To Use a 2DS
Post by: Hakudamashi on Jan 12, 2014 08:27 AM
I was surprised.

It's lighter and more comfortable to use than the 3DS, I actually played Kid Icarus Uprising with no hand pains at all. The stylus is conveniently placed and the battery lasts longer.
It actually fits into my pockets just fine, better than the Vita does anyway.

The only downsides to this thing is the lack of 3D, if you even cared for it in the first place, and the sleep switch, which I'm sure I would've gotten used to with enough time.

Sleep switch?

I'd prefer to try an XL myself. Does Kid Icarus still cause pain on that?

There's a switch near the power button to put it in sleep mode. Personally, I'd prefer it was a button, but whatever.

Kid Icarus is WORSE on the XL cause of how heavy it is... Almost unplayable for some people =U.

Oh, now I remember that.

Ouch. The XL was my one saving grace.

Why not get the 2DS?

Unless you rly want the 3D option.

I couldn't care less for the 3D, to be honest. My main worry about the 2DS is it still not being big enough for my giant ass hands.

Well my hands are pretty large, and I had little problem with it.
But I have no idea how large or small your hands are compared to mine...

I have a 3DS XL and Kid Icarus plays fucking great. If you support the XL with both hands like this (http://i.minus.com/idkwQfweyeU2w.jpg) (which you should be doing anyway) then you can play for long periods of time with no hand cramps. Not to mention the better battery life, D-Pad, START/SELECT/HOME buttons, and stylus placement which make it easily the best 3DS model.

I tried doing that...
It didn't work out too well for my pinky fingers...

That just looks uncomfortable. Generally I play laying down so the system just rests on my knees.

Maybe it's because you have the inferior cramped 3DS.

It's not uncomfortable at all. All you're doing is resting the 3DS into the palm of your right hand while clutching it with your left. You don't actually have to use your right pinky for anything.

I can't do that, probably because of the way I hold the stylus. I just tried.

Hard to rest it on your palm when you're holding it upwards while lying down on a bed

Yeah, you know...
If a game is designed in a way it makes people's hands generally hurt...

Something went wrong.

How is it any harder than holding it with just one hand?

It really is too bad because the rest of the game is so so good.

Isn't holding something with both hands always easier than holding something with just one hand?
