I guess this is the third Nintendo-exclusive Sonic game and it's based on the new cartoon. It's not being developed by Sonic Team but it isn't being developed by Dimps either. Looks like Sonic Heroes 2 and it includes the fugly new character designs. Thoughts? I think it looks weird.

So today; SEGA held a conference which would basically cover the future of their esteemed, Sonic the Hedgehog franchise going forward.

Indeed; the series has seen some twists and turns through the near 23 years it's been in existence. After a rough run through most of the 2000s; 2010-onward ~ has been a remarkable rise back to fame for the trouble-filled life of Sonic. Now, SEGA has decided to once again re-invent the series on a major scale - something that we haven't seen from since 2008's Sonic Unleashed.

Meet - SONIC BOOM.

Coupled with a new animated series; Sonic Boom is the third game in the exlcusive, three-game deal that SEGA has with Nintendo. This final game, will mark the beginning of a new era for Sonic. One should also note, that this isn't even being developed by Sonic Team; making it the first 3D, Action-Adventure Platformer Sonic game to ever be developed, outside of SEGA's hands. It's being developed by BigRedButton Entertainment - the creators of Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time

I'm liking the redesigns(Although I still question wtf is up with the bandages), and the game looks cools to me.

Really? I think they made Amy look a bit slutty, what with her seductive eyes. I thought she was supposed to be the innocent one.

And apparently the game is using Cryengine 3. And I dunno, this screenshot looks really bad:
