In case you guys don't remember, a version of 999 without the puzzle sections was released on iOS in Japan a while ago. Well, now it's out everywhere else. The new features in this version include new HD art (no more cute sprite animations) and the flowchart from VLR that allows you to jump to any part of the story (very helpful). It's only $5 so those of you who still haven't played 999 or haven't finished it due to hating the puzzles (I'm talking to you, jkid) have no excuse not to finish it now.

So the HD art doesn't move?

Except that I hate reading and don't own a phone.

Not sure, but I'm assuming it doesn't. It probably just fades between artwork.

That'd be lame.
Still better than a regular book I guess...

Here's a video of the iOS version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zFBDk2kxSs8

So the character portraits just sort of appear and don't animate at all. It sucks that there are no character animations because they were really charming, but the new art still looks okay. I'm just happy that more people will be able to play the game.

999: The Novel will be on sale for 99 cents tomorrow only (guess why). Even though this is the inferior version of the game, it's worth it at that price if you can't get the DS version.

You should pay someone to draw some for you.

Fuck that. If I was paying someone to draw me porn it sure as hell wouldn't be of someone else' character.

Depends on the context, but in the case of almost every VN it's definitely not classy.
