SpeedRunners is a platformer-racing game where you race against up to 3 other people and try to be in the lead enough to push them off the screen. Every time someone is pushed off screen the screen area gets smaller so it becomes tougher to stay alive, but the person in front is also at a disadvantage because they cannot see what is coming in front of them. There's a brief single-player mode, but the multiplayer is where it's really at. You can play locally but there is also a pretty big online community to play against. There's also a level editor so you can make your own levels to race on. It's really really fun.
The game is currently on Steam Early Access but it will also be coming to XBOX ONE next year. But fuck XBOX, get this game on Steam now. (http://store.steampowered.com/app/207140/)
Not till after it's finished.
No I didn't, it was a gift.
Well you've Kickstarted a couple of games.
Games that I will receive in full completed form when they're released.
And it was 2 games being kickstarted by industry veterans who I trust.
Hover isn't being developed by industry veterans.
And SpeedRunners is already essentially finished. They're working on balancing the game and adding new features, but the base game is complete and thoroughly enjoyable.

That's cause I wanted to keep my word, and to support games on Wii U, which I'm over.

Even you're giving up on the Wii U, eh?
No, I'm no longer getting bent out of shape over developers not putting games on it.
Since I'm quite happy with what I have, and what I'm getting.
This game is only $2.49 on Steam for 12 hours only! Everybody should get it! Ho ho ho!
Is it finished yet?

Is it finished yet?
It's finished enough to be worth $2.49.
But is it finished?
It's in Early Access if that's what you're asking.
Then I will continue to not bother.
You're not gonna buy a good game just because it's in Early Access?
Eeyup.
That's the dumbest reason ever to not buy a game. The game already has enough content for its asking price and it's not buggy or anything.
Then what's stopping them from making it official?
Because they want the full version have even more content and even less bugs.
Then I'll wait till then.
Do you also wait to buy games until all the DLC is out first?
Depends.
Well what's the difference between that scenario and Speedrunners?
In the case of Smash Bros. for Wii U it's cause I really, really, really wanted it ASAP no matter what. Those I try to get day one, which doesn't happen often.
Otherwise, yes, I do wait.
What about Borderlands? Dead or Alive? Mario Kart?
This game is seriously only $2.49 and you're refusing to buy it because it's "incomplete".
I didn't buy Borderlands, it was gifted to me.
Dead or Alive 5 was cause I wanted a 3D fighter.
Mario Kart is in the same boat as Smash. The DLC was announced months after anyways.
I thought you didn't care for Mario Kart that much?
If Speedrunners were officially released as-is, would you buy it?
I don't
But it's good family fun times, so it's on the top of my list.
It would turn from a "never" to a "possibly", I'd actually add it on my wishlist at the very least.
So literally the only reason you won't buy it is because the developers put it on Early Access.
Eeyup.
I hope you know how dumb that is.
I don't care how dumb you think it is, I stand by my decision.
Hey, I have a free copy of this game to give out. I would have given it to Haku but he's probably not interested in playing such an unfinished game.
I'll take it if you can't find anyone else to give it to.
Are you sure? I know how much you hate Early Access games.
But I'm not gonna turn down a gift from a friend.
Goddamnit, I was trying to make you look bad but you just made me look bad.
I'm...sorry?
Now you're making me look even worse!
This game is once again $2.49 for a limited time and it reminded me that Haku still hasn't even played it even though I gifted it to him.
I can trust him to read an infinite amount of manga, but when it comes to playing a game he just can't do it.
