Embark on the adventure of your dream life as you craft, cast, fish, mine, battle and explore like never before. With the innovative Life system, your choices don't just upgrade characters—they help shape your journey. Explore a huge fantasy landscape beside surly dark paladins, slick pirate captains, regal princesses and others who share your taste for the unknown.
FEATURES:
- Change to one of 12 Life classes at virtually any time to access different abilities. The combat class has fierce fighters, while the crafter class is skilled at making stronger weapons and tools. If you're not in the mood for battle, switch to a gatherer class and spend some time as a lumberjack or a fisherman.
- Choose your own adventure and play your way.
- The game reinvents itself with each Life you lead. Traverse an area as one Life class and return as another to gain different items.
- Explore a robust open world with distinct areas.
- Own a house in each town and decorate them with furniture you create.
Anyone else planning on getting this game? It's like a mixture between Animal Crossing and Final Fantasy. There's so much to do in the game that I can imagine getting lost in it just like Animal Crossing. You can even complete quests and explore the world in online multiplayer with two other people.
The only bad thing is this:
Day-1 DLC. And not only that, but this is content that was included in the Japanese version of the game that came out over a year ago. And they're selling it as DLC everywhere else! This would be like buying Bravely Default or Monster Hunter and having to pay for the Bravely Second/Ultimate features even though they came with the game in Japan. But what's even worse is that you can't play the multiplayer or Streetpass with people unless you both have or lack the DLC. So if you buy the DLC and want to play with someone who doesn't have it, tough shit. But I guess they don't mind splitting up the userbase like that if it means they could make more money.
Still, I'm not letting that turn me off because the game itself looks really cool. Y'all should get it, too.
Is there really anyone out there that doesn't want this game already?

I've never heard anyone here talk about it so I didn't know if you guys even cared about it.
I thought we already had a topic for this, weird.
But yes, I very much do want this, however, it is not particularly high on my wantlist atm.
From what I've seen the game looks fun, but it saddens me that Nintendo is walking on the dark path that CAPCOM took.
No, Eli. That's total bullshit.
There was an expansion in Japan called "Fantasy Life: Link!". It added the ability to play online as well as Origin Island (the day one DLC). The DLC pack by itself cost about $20, so the game was rereleased as a $50 package which included the main game as well as FLL.
Our version of the game already has everything from Fantasy Life: Link! in it, sans Origin Island. Them selling it as day one DLC bumps the price of the game up to what it is in Japan. We actually got a better deal in the long run than Japan because we don't have to pay extra to go online.

You're total bullshit.
As I said, this would be like if we had to pay extra for the Bravely Second features in Bravely Default. You can't say "At least we're not paying twice for the game" when this is the first time we're even getting the game! The Link version has been out for over a year in Japan, why are we getting the 2-year old original version? Oh wait, we're not. We're getting the Link version but with all the new content put behind a paywall (seriously, the DLC is already on the cart). They literally cut out the content and are making us pay extra for it.
The DLC adds more than just an area, it adds all the new features that were in the Link version minus the multiplayer. There are some substantial additions which you can tell by the fact that they're splitting up the multiplayer userbase between those that have the DLC and those that don't. Even the non-DLC areas of the game have the multiplayer split up like this.
I don't see the point of your argument though considering we're actually being asked to pay less for those features. Is your problem that we don't get them all for $40? If so even you can see how much of an entitled brat it makes you sound like.
What you're complaining about is that we don't get a feature for free that was never meant to be free in the first place and is still being sold in Japan.
I'm not so keen on not being able to play online with my friends that can't afford it, but it's not a huge loss because it's a great single player game in it's own right.

No, we're not being asked to pay less. The only people that are paying more than us are the people that bought both Fantasy Life and Fantasy Life Link (which nobody outside of Japan could have because they didn't the original version anywhere else). Those that just bought Fantasy Life Link got the exact same features as us but cheaper, and one year earlier than us at that. We're getting the game last but we still have to pay for features that Japan got a year earlier AND ARE ALREADY ON THE CART THAT THEY'RE SELLING US.
How does asking for the full game make me an entitled brat? Square Enix didn't make us pay for the extra content in Bravely Default For the Sequel. Capcom isn't making us pay for the 4G content in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate.

So did any of y'all get this game?
Nope
Cause money.
You should sell the games you won't be playing ever again like Smash 3DS.
Except I'll still be playing Smash 3DS.
Not when the Wii U game comes out.
Yes I will
I can't carry my Wii U to the bathroom
Or the bus
Or the bank
Or school
Or when I'm rushed to go to a friend's house
Or in the car
Whether or not I go online with it is a different story.
Your Wii U's signal doesn't reach the bathroom?
And you seriously play video games at the bank?
My bathroom is pretty far from where my Wii U is. It can work, but I gotta sit in a very specific position... which is not happenin.
And yes I do, those lines can get pretty long. As well as the times I'm in the waiting room for renewals and stuff.
Why would you even want to play in the bathroom anyway? Just finish your business and get out of there.
Constipation
Diarrhoea
That awkward feeling when you still feel like shitting but it doesn't come out when you push, so you sit there till your ass hurts.
How often does that happen?
How often is irrelevant, the point is it happens, and Smash 3DS is nice to have when it happens.
Because for some reason you can't handle sitting on the toilet for a few minutes without a videogame in your hands.
I can
But then I'd be sitting there doing nothing.
Would it magically make the situation better if it were a book?
You're not sitting there doing nothing, you're sitting there taking a dump.
Which I can do while doing something else.
Shitting is kind of an involuntary action, it takes effort to not shit.
So while my body is just doing it's business, I can be doing something else.
I wouldn't bring any of my gizmo gadgets into the bathroom with me. I wouldn't want to contaminate my 3DS with poopy particles.
Don't you wash your hands?
Of course I do, but bathrooms are inherently gross.
You don't clean your bathroom?
Not every day.
i wonder how the 3DS as a controller for Wii U would work for Wind? That way he can crap and play Wii U with...
us?
Talk about it on the Smash topic bro.
How do we know you're not taking a dump right now?
Do you really care?
...no.
Anyone here have this game yet (or are even semi-interested in getting it)? All my local shoppes were sold out so I sadly have to wait.
I am totally interested.
But y'know...money.
Sell all of your belongings.
That is the stupidest thing you've ever said to me.
I feel like I've said much stupider things to you in the past but whatever.
Not my thing.
Hey guys I just got this game and it's really good and fun IN MY OPINION. If one of you guys gets it make sure to also get the DLC so we can play together.
It's on the wishlist.
This game is really fun, guys! Y'all are missing out!
That's not gonna suddenly make me $40 richer.
I know, I'm just gonna use this thread to brag about how much fun I'm having.
I have a pet cat named Bob and a horse named Daytona.
I though you'd be blogging about it on Miiverse like you do Animal Crossing.
I read those.
I would but there's not as many good screenshot opportunities.
This game actually has pretty funny dialog but I always skip it before I think to screenshot it.
This guy is gonna give me MEGA AIDS:

So besides Eli and I, who here owns the game? I think there can only be three players per party so we've got room for one more.
Also if you do own the game you'll need the DLC to play with us.
Have you started the DLC island yet? Maybe we could do that together.
It's Origin Island and no, I'm working on it, though. I gotta get to level 50 before I can even think about it and I'm currently at 42.
So it's a deal that we play Origin Island together?
Not really. There's plenty to do on and off of it alone or together. We could totally take the Lord of the Dead with a little more armor (or at least I can) and we even have access to him right now.
Well I'm down to do what ever you want provided I'm not that under-leveled.
Can you defeat any of the wraiths yet?
I'm gonna guess no.
Then you need to let your balls drop before you even THINK about playing with me.
My balls are dropping at their own pace.
Well when when they finally hit the floor we can do the Ancient Tower trials and unlock my one true waifu, Celestia.
What level do I need to be for my balls to successfully hit the floor?
100.
Well, I'm a quarter of the way there!
Wow, you really are far behind me.
That's why I'm telling you to slow down and give me a chance to catch up!
Oh well.
You'd rather burn through Fantasy Life than wait for me while playing another game?
If I play RF4 I'm going to get caught up in that and not want to play Fantasy Life anymore.
Not when you find out how much better Fantasy Life is.
But if you play Fantasy Life too much you're gonna get burned out and not want to play it anymore.
So...
Origin Island Ending > Main Game Ending
As much of a crush as I have on Celestia watching her and Divinius fight is hilarious.
Don't spoil it for me, you tit!
And I thought we were gonna go through the DLC together! You're so mean. :(
I never promised you anything. Besides the story is so short that you spend more of it in Riveria than you do on the island. There are entire parts of the island I haven't even set foot on if you're that hellbent on playing with me.
I, for one, will be reaching Creator's rank for Paladin. Then I can pass down all my forged armor and weapons down to other players.
Fuck it, I'll just convince Haku to buy the game and play with him.
Whine whine moan moan.
Not like you have to be as good as me to play with me.
Oh, I don't? Because earlier you made it pretty clear that unless I'm level a million with every class mastered you wouldn't play with me.
I'd love to play with you
But unfortunately, Fantasy Life isn't on the top of my list.

You need to learn to take a joke.
I don't know what's real anymore.
To those of you who couldn't afford to play this game *nonsubtlecough*haku*nonsubtlecough*, don't worry because the sequel is coming exclusively to smartphones and it's absolutely free*! (http://www.siliconera.com/2015/04/07/fantasy-life-2-village-building-title-smartphones/) Not only that, but it reuses most of the assets from the first game so it's like you're playing an enhanced port of it!
