Title: So, anyone wanna teach me how to Pokemon?
Post by: Meme Master Flex on October 27, 2014, 02:16:28 PM
I would like to do the pokemons and I have obtained a DSi for trading. How do I breed without wasting 5 thousand hours of my life?

Which is the most recent game you have?

Give up while you're ahead.

Also there's not much trading you can do with just a DSi because the old Wi-Fi Connection servers are down.

Takes about 10 minutes if that much.

You can breed 2 perfect pokemon by the time you finish the vid.

Pokemon X
Use this game primarily. There's no point in going back to the older games if you have something more recent. Only use the others it you need a non-Kalos Pokemon.

No. The fake GTS services like Pokecheck relied on Nintendo's servers to work and, even then, they couldn't connect to other players.

Okay so I'm a lazy fuck and I want to hack in Pokemon with near perfect natures, how do I do?

If you want to hack you're shit outta luck.
But the breeding and training process have been sooo simplified in X and Y, you won't miss it. Even the laziest fuck can get good results.

Wind is actually wrong about not being able to hack Pokemon. You can still do it, it's just more difficult. You'll need either a cart to play DS Roms on the real system (R4 is as cheap as $5) or a DS Action Replay to get them onto a retail cartridge. The R4 method requires two system and two games (you have to trade from the Rom to the retail cart) while the Action Replay Method only requires one system but is more cost effective.

I've already written a helpful guide (http://soniczone.net/forum/index.php?topic=34991.0) elaborating on what to do from there.

No one likes a spoil sport.

...but seriously. Wind said the same exact thing before I taught him how to do it.

Getting engrossed in a story and its characters is pretty fun.

Grinding for shit isn't.

Do I need to add another point to the list of reasons we can't date?

A couple is supposed to help each other overcome their problems and become better people, not just accept their flaws and let them walk around like douchebags.

I don't see how my dislike of grinding in video games is a problem.

That isn't the problem. The problem is that you're stating opinions like facts. It makes you look narcissistic and pisses everyone off reading your post.

Sorry, from now on I'll preface everything I say with "in my opinion" so that you don't get confused and think I'm speaking on behalf of everyone.

See, we're helping each other become better people just like a real couple. Baby steps.

Y'know what else can do that?
Anime

Grinding is not why I like Pokemon anyway.

No
I see the appeal of grinding itself. I even enjoy grinding in some games, more so in RPGs like Bravely Default.

But Pokemon in particular, grinding is not why I like it.

Wonder trade until you get a good sized group of pokemon in the egg group you're breeding for, check their stats. We're looking for other people's leftover breeding stock. once you've got some perfects, which you'll know by following the videos posted earlier, start breeding for the pokemon you want with 5 perfect stats. You will not need all 6. Pick the one you don't need and ignore it. Once you've got some perfect statted pokemon that you were breeding for, start breeding the moves you want onto them. Finally, once you've got a perfectionist's perfectly perfect pokemon, trade for a Japanese Ditto and start breeding for a shiny version. The end.

Except that never ends because you will never get the shiny.
