The Producers are currently seeking $250'000 on Indiegogo to finish up the production without losing creative freedom for a international release. Most of the money will be spent on CG (as this movie will also have a sci-fi twist), Sound and Taxes. It's also rated R.
Currently the only Strechgoal is $500'000. That amount would be spent on state of the art CG and Soundtrack.

There hasn't been a movie shot in first person from start to end. There have been short sequences where the camera would go in the first person view, or things like Cloverfield, but that isn't really first person. There was both an lack of interest, as well as a lack of technology.
I wouldn't be surprised if in the end there'd be a version adjusted for Oculus Rift / Morpheus.
