Tried my best to clean Irene out to see if it helps at all with the overheating. So far my efforts seem to have been for the better. I'll use this topic to update my computer situation from now on so hopefully it won't leak into other topics.

This isn't the "Ask jkid Anything Topic" but yes, I have access to both of those things.
What I ended up doing was getting a straw and blowing in all of Irene's vents in an attempt to move the dust, if not get it out. Then I wiped the bottom of her and her vents with a damp cotton ball to remove the dust on the bottom of her. From my experience since posting this topic my efforts were apparently rewarded because my baby is running smoother than butter at the moment.
Then again, Skype is down too since Wind isn't around to make keeping it up worth it so that helps too.
Skype will be there to slow Irene down soon enough.
If you didn't actually clean her fans then I'm sure it's only a temporary fix.
