Wich Sonic games are better, the classics (2D) or the new (3D)?

Now when i mean better i dont mean graphics or anything like that, i mean what game can you play for hours on end?
The classics look like way more fun to play, But I really suck at them so I'll have to go with 3D.
I love the 2D,But,The First Game I played was sonic adventure,so its all good
I'm the exact same as akatu on this one so i go for 3d.
But i accidently chose the wrong answer so now i cant change it :(

The only 2D sonic games I own are sonic 3 and knuckles, and I can play that for a few hours.
But I have alot of 3D sonic games that I play for almost all day, so I'll say 3D.
Edit: ok, got sonic CD, and it ROCKS!! Too bad I can't change my answer to both LOL

I love both equally. 2D give the original Sonic feel, but 3D games give you a more realistic feel. It's hard to choose between the two, so I'm voting for both.

3d is great because of the surrounding graphics, i prefere 3d but 2d is great if the game was intresting
thats a hard one. i like the 2d games coz thats how sonic started off and they're really fun but i also like 3d coz its another way to play sonic games and they're also cool.
I pick both in the future there gonna have 3d and 2d both game :)

They're both awesome ;D i just prefer the older 2D ones to the newer 2D ones.

The old ones have fewer glitches, but the new ones have more characters
For me is all because the gamecube and old 3d games were good while the 2d ones are the original and you can't stop playing them.

2D by far. You can't even compare the 3D and 2D versions because they are so different but at least the 2D versions aren't flawed.

Not EVERY 2D Sonic game was good. The Game Gear ones weren't much fun.

I Think Its All Good Because Like The 2D Made Us Kinda Start Likin 3D So Yh
I have spent hours on both kinds. The Two Dimensional games are more fun to play around in because it's more of a game with twists and turns. The Three Dimensional games feel more like a story than a game most of the time.
3D and 2D are good for me to like.
i personally like 2D & 3D because sonic rush is like 2d and 3d but there all good to me.

I like 3D.Well first time i liked 2D because i didnt know that would be 3D games with sonic.But when i saw that sonic can be played on 3D i was very happy.I like it because its more realistic than 2D sonic games.

Both are really good so I can't decide.
i choose there all good because sonic 1,2 and 3 or good and sa2 sadx SU etc. were good.

personally, the sonic 2D games are cool, but I also liked sonic adventure DX, sonic adventure 2 battle, sonic heroes and sonic unleashed, so they're all good
and that's not because sonic old school games are in 2D that those are the only ones
for example, sonic rush and sonic rush adventure
Also sonic unleashed because sometimes there are ways in 2D
Both 2D & 3D have their goods and bads, but people trash on the 3D games a lot more.
They're all awesome and good.

It's all good, but they can make really bad 3D games... I'm lookin at you sonic heroes >:(
