its called garrys mod its a sandbox mod of half life 2(one of my favorite games of all time) if you want it free just use pac steam or clauncher.the problem with not owning the game is that you cannot play online in normal servers and can only join one of the very few cracked servers.

to play garrys mod your going to need to download a source engine game id recommend half life 2 or team fortress 2 as they are both great games and to play any of these games online you cant just use the reguler server list go to http://css.setti.info/servers/ for a list of cracked servers with their ip address(garrys mod is listed as sandbox in other rare game types) copy the ip address(ctrl+c) then in the server browser go to your favorites and click add server by ip(or something like that) and paste(ctrl+v) it into the bar and add it.
