What do you think about any video game dubbed controversial?

I think that it depends on the genre of game. If it's a shooter, I'd ignore it. Mainly because it would probably contain sexual or religious things. I'm not a fan of involving games in either. If it's like GTA, stay away at all costs. If it's controversial because of weird reasons, I'll probably check it out. If it doesn't sound to bad, then I don't see much of a problem.

The more religions and anti video game groups hate it, the more chance of me buying it.

I think there wouldn't be a problem if people didn't make such big deals out of it. Then they wouldn't get as much attention and kids would just think of it as another video game. But once it gets attention in the media, they've gotta have it.

True, but when you say nothing about it, more people are curious, and therefore more people buy it.

Its funny, how everyone gets all butthurt over gta4 coming out, yet more controversial games came out, like saints row 2, but no one cared about it, because "OH LAWD, GTA4 IS GONNA MAKE ALL OUR KIDS INTO TERRORISTS!"

Yeah, people need to see that it's just a video game. If they try to do what the characters are doing, they have major issues and need a counselor.

www.dictionary.com (http://www.dictionary.com) defines it as:

1.    of, pertaining to, or characteristic of controversy; polemical: a controversial book.
2.    subject to controversy; debatable: a controversial decision.
3.    given to controversy; disputatious.

Controversy is defined as:

1.    a prolonged public dispute, debate, or contention; disputation concerning a matter of opinion.
2.    contention, strife, or argument.

So basically we're talking about games that are argued about based on their contents. Such as Grand Theft Auto, Saints Row, or any sexual/religious game.

Lol, i played gta, and its great.

Hm, its funny, they made a adaption of the godfather part 2, into a game, and it wasnt the best game, but they had nudity in the game, yet no one went after it, because it didnt have "Grand theft auto" in the name.

Yes, the self control of a child.

But that all points back the shitty parenting.
If the parents would have taught their children self control, there wouldn't be any of this.

Holy fuck, if it were up to me, if a child fucks up, tear their ass up.  Who gives a fuck about all the child abuse shit?  if a parent even touches a child anymore, it's child abuse.  what happened to the good 'ole days of corporeal punshiment?

Lol, that's sort of funny because my sister is currently doing a school project on child abuse. Funny or sad, not sure.

With the world's economy like it is, parents are more than willing to sue for anything and everything. So, that combined with over-protective mom's creates codling. It's amazing how coddled children are... Because of this, they try to "protect" their children from these games.

"Bullsh*t"
is what my Dad would say

"They need re-hab,they need to realize the real world has no coddling"

And he's absolutely right. Parents need to realize that it's hurting their children, not helping it.

Only in the gaming world have we heard controversial news like this.

The only games to ever fit that category are GTA ans Mass Effect, you gotta set your standards a tad lower.
