"According to Sony, players will go bonkers over PSP go, releasing Stateside on October 1st. This smaller version of the company's handheld sports a sliding screen and 16 GB of internal flash memory. That's all well and good, but it lacks a UMD slot. You know, that magical piece of tech that enables us to play previously released UMD discs; Sony promised to address this issue, and in other news, the Loch Ness Monster just ate Big Foot.
Here's the problem. PSP go costs more (a whopping $250) than the standard PSP ($169.99), it still doesn't have a second analog stick, 16 GB pales in comparison to a 32 GB iPhone 3GS (although you can add another 16 GB with a Memory Stick Micro) and it's not significantly more powerful than previous models.
If PSP go tanks, expect huge changes at Sony Computer Entertainment. We don't expect it to kill the PlayStation brand, but it would make a dent; in other words, if you work for Sony, your job's on the line."

I heard of this recently and it's going to fail so much!
1. It's ugly....
2. No UMD slot, i hate using credit cards online. (If that's how going to work.)
3. Can't play old PSP games, reminds me of the new 80GB PS3 and higher problem.
4. Flip screen isn't good.
5 It's really ugly....
and I thought the DSi was bad
so basically i can't play any of my games on it? This is going to fail, i'd rather buy the new Slim PS3
well, I like how it looks. And how it has Internal Memory. I think they should've made it so there was an already existing code in the box or the guide which was different for ALL games and ALL copies of EACH game. So you redeemed that code and was able to download it off of PSN. But...no. Sony, come on.

My thoughts exactly. I mean if I had any choice between a normal one and this hunk of garbage for free...I would honestly take the old one.

I would take a free Dreamcast and Xbox 360 Pro/Elite, especially if it's red!

i saw i being advertised in a HMV store last night... it looks gud but no UMD slot and the PSP store not having any gud PSP games in it then this looks like a waste of sony's time

Well I don't care if it doesn't have a umd slot, you can just download games from somewhere and just put it in the PSP go since it has A LOT OF MEMORY.
What about people who cant download stuff so would that be a waste of 250
