As a vision screener, thanks to a workshop from "Prevent Blindness North Carolina."
It wasn't required, but it was a special workshop for the Heath Sciences Academy students.
Basically, all I can do are eye checks (like the reading the letters off the poster thing, but I can also do color blindness and "lazy eye" tests too.) and refer someone to a higher authority (in my case, when we do our first vision screening, we're checking elementary kids, so the higher authority is the school nurse) if they even show the slightest sign of vision problems. I just can't diagnose anything. roflz.
