anyone know a good 'serious' anime movie?

So,  I know you're looking for dark kinda movies.. but I don't know too many xD or at least can't remember those I've seen well enough to recommend it.
Howevuh o3o if you haven't watched Paprika yet, maybe you should give it a try :3 it's definitely different. The animation is pretty awesum too, in my opinion.
And this isn't a anime.. but Silent hill is a pretty dark movie.. for the most part.

Grave of the Fireflies is pre-Ghibli. It's as serious as can be. I could spoil it for you, but people die is sad ways. Kids. And watching it a second time makes you realize what a person at the beginning of the movie dumps out of a tin is actually the ashes of the guy's sister. There's no happy ending. It's based on a real story, only they went and killed the guy in the movie that lived in real life just to make it bleaker.

There is a Live-Action Version too and a remake of that.


In other news, i just watched King of Thorn...
...i'm not sure if this is the most epic thing i've seen or if its just fucking with my mind.

i swear, in the last 30 minutes of the movie i definitely said 'waitwhat', 'wha' & 'no way' at least thirty

Papurika? It got lots of animation prices, so bizarre though.

Also, Slient Hill? 


I really have to check that out at some point, 'cause everyone seems to love that movie even though it got horrible reviews.
Its a video-game movie, how can that be good. pffchhpfff.

Yeah, it has to be one of the weirdest anime movies I've seen so far. It was really good though.
And I don't see why Silent hill got such awful reviews. everyone I know that's seen it has liked it too.
given that's only like..  four or five people..  but still xD

The keroro gunsou (sgt. frog) movies are pret-*COUGH COUGH*. the *cough*. I'm sorry i'm a horrible liar. the Sgt. Frog (Keroro Gunsou) Movies or the cartoon are ridiculously funny and not serious at all. So, sorry, I prefer comedy over seriousness.
