Should I be confident to like Sonic at this generation?

I don't think anyone around me likes sonic as much as i do?

I'm going out on a rant when i should be sleeping. its 2016 and sonic is still my shit, but i haven't really seen any f my friends like it at all. sonic has been going down the gutter thanks to sonic boom, but i got so much hype for project 2017 and mania...should i still have that faith, though? I'm kinda worried a lot about liking something that might get me bullied.
