Silly? Not really. It's smart because it affects the art itself in no way, and the rating square can still be shown.

Honestly, this is some of the best boxart in recent gaming history.. the composition of that picture is amazing.
Too bad for americans though, they get this version instead.

Ahahahahahaha.

I was joking, silly.

And I honestly don't see what makes this box art so great nor do I see why the blur apparently ruins it.

The way the picture is composed... basically like a triangle effect.

It's better than minimalist covers.. or loud covers that make no sense. Upon examining this boxart it actually tells you a lot about the nature of the game. If you were in a store and saw it, there's a good chance it would stand out. Wheras in the US version, it looks so unnecessarily gritty, the scenery can't be seen, and it hurts your eyes to look at for too long. It makes the game just look like total shit, and it's far too saturated. When I first saw it, I laughed. Like, I legit laughed. Poor american Far Cry fans.. x3

They even moved the position of that machete..

I mean come on.. when you look at it, you're drawn from one side to the other. Beautiful paradise.... to Evil looking bad guy.. to dead people everywhere.

Each to their own opinion of course. But at least the main cover isn't just the protagonist doing some retarded action-y thing like in most covers, it actually has some meaning to it. I think that counts for something.

It certainly beats a soldier walking away from an explosion.
