Around the time Xenogears came out, I met my second girlfriend. She was the most awesome girl I've ever met in my life. She looked a lot like Elly, and she was aware of this, because she played vidya too. She introduced me to a lot of games I never would have otherwise played, actually...If she hadn't introduced me to Samurai Shodown II, I wouldn't have ever gotten into fighting games. She had a modded Playstation and we got to play tons of cool shit before it came to the US...I remember we played the original Guilty Gear forever. She was also really into this weeaboo fighting game called Advanced Variable Geo.

Anyway, one night she said she didn't feel well and was going to lay down on the couch. She woke up late for church the next day, which wasn't like her, because we liked to sit next to each other and keep each other company. Even though she had fair skin to begin with, she was white as a ghost. After the service, in the parking lot, she started to cough up blood. She told me she loved me before someone rushed her to the emergency room. That was the last time I ever saw her. The doctors couldn't figure out what was wrong with her. She died a few days later. We found out later she had some impossibly rare disease called Goodpasture's Syndrome.

I can't get through Xenogears anymore. Even if I don't play it, I still think about her and miss her every day. You don't need to respond to this or anything, i just need to share this.
