Advance 3 all the way. It is somewhat of a mix between 1 and 3 though. 2 was basically just hold down right to win. All 3 have fantastic music, though :P

Yeah, boss battles were disappointing that way. There was also this in the game: Amy is a super pain to unlock, but in return, she is a powerful character to play as! Another pain in that game, was to unlock the Tiny Chao Garden. (Advance had the Tiny Chao Garden unlocked from the beginning) Sadly, Advance 2 was the final Sonic advance game to have the Tiny Chao Garden. 3 did not have it. (Chao are so cute!)

Sonic Advance was great, had great music and platform, but lacked that special something. Tiny Chao Garden was cool, but did nothing to amaze me. Loved the mini games though.

Sonic Advance 2 was very fast and upbeat, but you had to collect all the emeralds and beat the game with all character just to unlock Amy! *z* What the hell was that? But once you tho that, you get the most powerful character in the game. Once you unlock Cream you can basically milk the bosses because she uses Cheese to attack them.

Sonic Advance 3 IMO was the best. Longer and better, introduced the tag-team gameplay style and had minigames, and you could mix and match characters. But with the level design being more challenging than SADV (But not harder than SADV2) you will find yourself crashing into walls and getting hit by enimes.

EDIT:
Sonic Battle had some great combat and had some great music. I often find myself having a skirmish in the battle mode :D Too bad the game has all those minigames that require the GBA link cable; I really would've liked to play those. Also the Gemerl customizing system was pretty awesome too.

Sonic Pinball Party is a pretty good pinball game. Features music remixes from Sonic Advance 1, and also boards based on the stages from them. Even though the EGGMAN and SONIC things can get pretty annoying, it was fun to play nonetheless. I liked the minigames into it, had the casino theme that older players like.
