The Chaotix (lol that includes Espio, guys, so yeah...)
or Silver.

But personally, I think modern Chaotix game would be a nice spinoff.
Kinda like Knuckles' Chaotix, only without Knuckles on the team (he could be canon, just as Sonic and the other characters could, but not be a playable character.  Maybe like a helper as they were in Shadow the Hedgehog) and without Mighty.
Cause let's face it.  Mighty is long, gone, and forgotten.
