E-SWAT was not one of the first Sega Master System games I played, but it was one of the first I actually owned. I played and bought it back in 2004, and it's one of my favorite games on the SMS. It's a port of an arcade game that was released in 1989. This port came out one year later. It's obvious that the SMS version is inferior to the arcade version in every aspect, but still, I really like the game alot, and it's fun. Also in 1990, a sequel to the game was released on the Megadrive/Genesis. Even though the Genesis/Megadrive game shared the same subtitle as the SMS port of the arcade original (City Under Siege), the Genesis/Megadrive one was a completely different game. My older brother thinks this game is a rip off of Robocop though. I wouldn't quite say it is, but I can see the similarities.

Here's some information from Wikipedia, because I'm too lazy to type the info out myself:

Players control Duke Oda (????????), a member of the Cyber Police force in the city of Liberty who tries to clear the streets of crime, terminate the most wanted criminals and put them behind bars. There are 15 stages to complete, which takes the player through Liberty streets, car yards, stadiums, restaurants, the CBD, and boat docks. There are bosses on some stages. During each stage, the player picks up ammunition with varying amounts. For example, on some levels, ammo may be worth 10 bullets, while in others, there may be 60 bullets.
Bosses attack in several ways. For example, the first boss breathes fire; the second boss throws a boomerang; and the third uses an anchor. Note that the bosses are not just people. The player also battles an ape, a tiger, a monster truck in "Eagles Stadium," and cyborgs. Once these first three bosses are defeated, the player's rank rises to captain, followed by assistant chief, and finally to chief.
Once the chief rank has been achieved, the player is given a cyber suit, which is described by the game as a "long-range supersonic powered suit" which contains two Turbo-Booster Thrusters, and provides extra ammunition and protection. This suit is used for the duration of the game. At this point, the player will have to arrest criminal masterminds like Dirty Duffy, Rats Lee, and other dangerous criminals.
