I've been reading the Sonic Archie comics, and Sonic is NOWHERE near Green Hil Zone, so I'm wondering...

Go to the link under the image I posted. There are like, five other pages there.

The latest in the group starts explaining how shit began going down so I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the ending to the arc you're reading has nothing to do with Megaman. The events connecting them are probably explained in the first comic of the crossover arc.
